HARPER'S ISLAND is the best mini-series to hit the air in the past decade. At least, according to my humble opinion.
In just twelve short episodes, viewers have been taken on a wild ride of mystery and murder that rivals (if not surpasses) many big-budget Hollywood Films.

The premise
HARPER'S ISLAND is about a group of family and friends who travel to a secluded island off the coast of Seattle for a destination wedding. This island is famous for a streak of grusome murders from seven years ago. As the wedding festivities begin, relationships are tested and secrets exposed as a murderer claims victims, one by one, transforming the wedding week of fun and celebration into a terrifying struggle for survival. In every episode, someone is killed and every person is a suspect, from the wedding party to the island locals.
Though Henry and Trish are the unlucky couple to choose this hellish backdrop for their special day, the real story lies with Abby Mills, whose mother was among those killed seven years ago. It seems that her return to the island has set off this grisly chain of events...and only she can put an end to the maddness. What is her connection to the crimes?
With each episode, the story grows deeper. A duffle bag filled with cash. An illicit affair. A diary. A very knowing little girl. What does it all mean? What secrets does this quiet island hold?
The answers to these questions and more will finally be answered this Saturday night. Be sure to tune in at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.

I agree, one of the best mini-series to hit the air. It took a few episodes to develop but once it got going, and I suspect they knew CBS was going to give 'em the shaft, they went all out. Episode 11, especially shines. Those lucky, lucky Canadians who get to watch it tonight...
Harper's Island is an amazingly smart show. They spent the first four or five weeks with you really getting to know each and every character on the show, while they were slowly killed off. Then, the characters you loved were thrown into this hell ride of murder and suspense. It's been a wonderful show, and I can't wait to see then finale.
The 2 hour finale of Harper's Island was fantasic!! I didn't know who the killer was and my jaw hit the floor a couple of times during the show. WOW!!!! Great, great show!!!
@ Mike: Yes, I agree...the second hour was outstanding. All of the puzzle pieces fell perfectly into place. Again, I cannot praise the writers of this series enough. Simply outstanding, from start to finish. Thanks for your comment!
