RNC chair blasted for comparing Obama to the captain Schettino

The type of mud slinging which is already appearing in the 2012 presidential campaign is playing right into the hands of the communists who feel the two party political system of the United States undermines faith in necessary leadership roles during political campaigns. In fact there appears to be a great deal of discomfort among the community in Syracuse which is worried about the nations stability upon hearing that Obama has been compared to captain Francesco Schettino of the cruise liner Costa Concordia , which ran aground off the coast of Tuscany earlier this month and resulted in the deaths of at least 17 people.
Lucy Madison of CBS news has picked up on this story and has reported in its Political Hot Sheet "Wasserman Schultz blasts Priebus for comparing Obama to cruise ship captain Francesco Schettino." Democratic National Committee (DNC) chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz on Monday has blasted her Republican counterpart, Republican National Committee (RNC) chair Reince Priebus, for comparing President Obama to the captain of the Costa Concordia.

Schultz has commented in an interview with Fox News "Unbelievable comparison. The captain of the Costa Concordia has been charged with manslaughter and for the RNC chairman to compare the president of the United States to someone who has been charged with manslaughter shows a dramatic level of insensitivity to the families of those victims. I'm not going to give any credence to those incendiary remarks."

Priebus has said according to Madison "In the end, in a few months, this is all going to be ancient history and we're going to talk about our own little Captain Schettino, which is President Obama who is abandoning the ship here in the United States. He's more interested in campaigning than doing his job as president." Francesco Schettino has been disgraced for his behavior both leading up to and during the crash of the Costa Concordia and he has been charged with multiple manslaughter and abandoning ship in Italy. Apparently he deviated from the ship's computer-programmed route to do a sail-by the island of Giglio, where the ship crashed into submerged rocks.

Schultz has added that Priebus' remarks have demonstrated an inappropriate "a lack of respect" for Mr. Obama, and has added he should be "ashamed" of them. She has also said "Chairman Priebus crossed the line. People died, and he is exploiting and making light of a tragedy for political purposes. I call on Chairman Priebus to apologize for his comments and for the hurt he may have caused in making them."
It appears Barak Obama can be trusted to be captain of the American ship so to speak, but many people would like to see him consider changing course towards less choppy waters in dealing with some controversial issues related to the economy and human rights. In the meantime, as long as he is the captain of the ship he needs a reasonable amount of allegiance from his own countrymen to be able to keep from being sunk by enemy battleships which really are all around us. Perhaps Shultz therefore has a point and Priebus should consider apologizing for his comments.
