San Francisco: triple murder complicity

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- I and thousands of San Franciscans are embarrassed and disgusted by this story.  It's getting extensive play on blogs and news wires.  The story:  The man charged with killing a father and two sons on a San Francisco street last month was one of the youths who benefitted from the city's long-standing practice of shielding illegal immigrant juveniles who committed felonies from possible deportation.  (For the most important account of this incident plus almost 200 comments, read Cinnamon Stilwell's Chronicle article.)

And these murders may come back to haunt Mayor Newsom, who can't seem to control his administration, staff, and often, city  -- remember the "Willie Horton Ad", which sunk a presidential candidate (Michael Dukakis, 1988, when a criminal released by the candidate went on to murder).

To be complicit is to be an accomplice or involved in wrongdoing.   By that definition, William Siffermann, the city's juvenile probation director is complicit in the triple murder.  Mayor Newsom, who appointed Sifferman in 2005, is also complicit  by not knowing or bothering to know that the city was spending $2.3 million to hold teen offenders than complying with federal immigration law  --- including Edwin Ramos, accused of murdering a father and his two sons.

Thirty one California cities have declared sanctuary status including Los Angeles and San Diego.

Only one city has flaunted the policy including initiating a $83,000 campaign to broadcast the policy, calling it 'outreach.  Only one city shielded illegal immigrant juveniles who committed felonies from possible deportation, only one city flew juvenile drug dealers back to their homeland rather than turning them over to Federal authorities.  And, most despicable,  only one city enabled a convicted gang member (member the country's most violent gang, M-13) to remain in this country illegally and  commit a road rage triple murder.

Travesty does not begin to express this situation. The elected and appointed officials who found it so fashionable to ignore their duty because of ideology should be required to call upon Mrs Bologna and explain why their dereliction resulted in her husband and sons dying.

San francisco should be excluded from the rest of the country because they are so far left they should be in France with the rest of the screwy liberals. The Mayor and his people should be brought up on charges for being complicit in this triple murder and for breaking the immigration laws of this nation! STOP ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION NOW! I don't give a damn why they come here, they are crimminals that thumb their nose at our laws and hurt our nation.

It doesn’t seem to matter if it is Police Officer in Houston attempting to safe guard his city, a high school student in Los Angeles standing in front of his home while his mother is half way around the world defending her country, or a father and his sons in San Francisco driving home all became targets of ILLEGALS and were murdered because of the greed of “our” Elitist Politicians and their Elitist Contributors in search of “cheap labor” to help their “bottom line”!

This is a cautionary tale as to why people shouldn't vote for the LEFT.Their policies are crazy. Like former NY Mayor Ed Koch who describes himself as "a liberal with sanity". The implicatioon is that liberals aren't sane.

By now it should be clear what the priorities of the left are - they certainly aren't enforcing the law, protecting the rights of citizens, or even helping the poor. The American Left continues its 8-year tantrum over losing the 2000 presidential election by deliberate obstruction of justice and sabotage of the federal government or anything representative of the Bush administration. Not that I am saying that Bush is perfect on the immigration issue (far from it), but the fact of the matter is that the political hacks of Baghdad, Iraq-by-the-Bay, more interested in flaunting their uber-leftwing credentials, have acted in concert to undermine the federal government in enforcing our immigration laws. Time to cut off all federal funding to SF until an independent, non-patisan panel can certify that the City is in compliance with federal immigration laws. In addition, the district federal DA needs to start an investigation, given that there's plenty of effort to suggest that the Mayor, Board of Stuporvisors, the county Sheriff, head of Juvenile Probation, and the city DA conspired to break the law.

There's an old saying that dictators play to an audience of other dictators, i.e. they seek to impress their disreputable peers with their power and control over the lives of others. Liberals are scarily similar. They really don't care whether their policies make things worse, they are merely trying to impress each other with how "politically correct" they can be. Rest assured that instead of analyzing where things went wrong or acknowledging/reflecting on their mistakes, they will instead dedicate their efforts to find a way to shift the blame to others, i.e. the Bush administration in particular.

That advertising campaign to attract illegals is looking more and more like a self-inflicted "Willie Horton" ad!

DC Tom, yes, sometimes a single event in a politician's political life can raise such concerns about judgement that it calls into question all the policies and initiatives. DA Harris didn't know about the improper grants. Mayor Newsom didn't know about the multi-million dollar illegal convict program. Either their incompetent or they're not telling us the whole truth. ("What did they know; when did they know it?")
