President Barack Obama has approved adding about 17,000 U.S. troops for Afghanistan. Strange. No reaction from the rambunctious Code Pink.

We've been here below. In 2003, a group of poets boycotted a White House conference in protest against the Iraq War. But the same poets had no problem with former President Clinton's deadly bombing of Serbia. No protests, no shouts, no protest.
Code Pink -- at least for now -- is taking the same path. Bush's Iraq War was a target of their wrath. Obama's quiet troop deployment goes unnoticed.
The new president didn't address the nation, didn't consult with our allies, didn't send out spokespersons to explain his move. I support the move. I don't support the stealth method in which it was enacted.
But Code Pink's response is as stealth. They should be raging mad. Instead, silence. Wars and military action by Democrat presidents don't seem to fit their protest criteria.. For now.

I disagree with Obama on the tactic, since I don't think that Afghanistan can be "won". It is Religious and Drug Mob rule there. I disagree that this was a stealth move. Obama campaigned on this premise, and he has been stating his intention to do this all along.

holy caps batman....ease up some.. your keyboard and blood pressure will thank you later....I do however agree with you -- Code Pink completely villified both wars and right now both wars are still on-going--albeit iraq is winding down somewhat -- the other is getting ugly (for us). Bush got the bad end of the stick on this -- he was delt a crap hand while in office and did what he had to do -- unfortunately our country as a whole has a short memory and its stomach for a just war (afghtanistan) doesnt last quite as long as we've been fighting so far...get a poll from any campus and most will give a canned "where there for the oil" response if asked why were at war -- typical leftist view...afterall look who's influencing that -- those uber liberal professors and the liberal media as a whole....
As a independent -- im glad America is still able to fight for the rights of those who dont agree or undertand why we fight -- but i'm also worried if at some point we run out of brave men and women who will step up and contiue that fight for other generations. As for Code Pink - who cares what those old women are up to -- probably sitting on their fat asses watching tv.
