The Thoroughbred Times reports that Magna Entertainment could default on its loans as early as March! Now we see why Magna could not come up with the money for a proper slots application. What does this mean for Preakness? Magna may be forced to sell its assets if it does go bankrupt. Pimlico and Preakness are valuable assets. Now is the time for a local hero to swoop in and make Magna an offer for the Preakness (and maybe Pimlico). I am willing to drop everything I am doing and be part of a team to buy the Preakness and make sure it stays in Baltimore forever (and allows outside beverages inside on Preakness day).

Look for CNET founder and zillionaire Halsey Minor to come in and buy up any Magna/Md Jockey Club assets that are worth owning. Although I think Adam Meister would also do a helluva job with it. You could scrap races 3, 4, and 5 in favor of a Big Money Karaoke Contest.
The State does not have to worry about Magna taking them to court. They will just do him like they did the Orioles owner drag it out in court and then they will lose because the court is rigged in their favor and the State will extract more money out of them for court cost. HA! HA! HA! Magna Jockey that up you for forget you're in Maryland you have to pay to play....
