Jessamy's $225k a year tax payer funded salary allows her to pay for campaign media splash

Martin O'Malley gave Patricia Jessamy a tremendous raise in 2006. Some thought O'Malley was trying to attract a better candidate to the position. Jessamy's bloated tax payer funded $225k a year salary is allowing her to loan her campaign money to pay for some upcoming TV ads.  WBAL TV is reporting that Jessamy is loaning her campaign money to pay for about $176,000 worth of TV air time. The Bernstein campaign commented on this development:

"It was just reported on WBAL-TV that Jessamy is personally loaning her campaign the funds needed to cover a $176,000 worth of ads on network TV. She has the highest salary of any elected official in the state, which presumably has enabled her to make this personal expenditure. It appears that after fifteen years on the job, she has not garnered enough support from the community to run an effective campaign and now must make this attempt to buy the election."

When I was researching this article I found an article of mine from 2008 which talks about Jessamy's salary and to keep in mind the future 2010 election. I also talk about Steve Fogleman and ask which politicians supported him in 2006. In a future article I will talk about how in 2006 George Della's campaign handed out sample ballots with Jessamy's name on them.

I think that if the loan doesn't get repaid, it can be characterized as a business loss, thus becoming tax deductible.

And don't forget the fact that Jessamy used her prosecutors--paid for by the City--to appear in her commercials. During the work day. Not during the lunch hour (unless City employees get half-day lunch hours). And then lied about it. What a great leader!

O'Malley did the same thing to all of this top officials when he went to Annapolis that same year. While he turned around and twisted the knife in all the worker bees. Well we will remember him in November also and all of his cronies. He gave a high salary to an incompetent official that goes to show his worth in picking good people for a position. He's a guy that even back the wrong person for president and is shun down in D.C. even though he tries to play it off. All incumbents are gone as far as my vote is concern especially the Democratic ones. They have spent local, state and this nation in to debt that our grand and great grand will be paying for it up the whyzoo for years to come. To Barbara, Elijah, Jessamy, Franchot, state and local officials find new jobs because this gravey train ride is over. Now you will have to work for a living like the rest of America and stop double dipping while working state and city jobs while pulling down federal and high official salaries.
