How Sheila Dixon Pay-to-Play Works According To The Keiffer Mitchell Campaign

A few comments posted under my entries have questioned how relatively small contributions are able to influence out leaders. They just do not think it is possible. Well here is an explanation of how it works (in theory) according to the 2007 Keiffer Mitchell Campaign:

So what if they contributed and won a contract. The question is..."Were they the low bidders?"

Wow! Never saw that before. pretty good account. Only thing is its ridiculous coming from Mitchell who approved each proposed budget as a council member and never challenged any of these Dixon, O'Malley, or Schmoke pay-to-play games until he was running for mayor himself. The corruption will never change until all of the above named and their progeny are gone from city polititcs and campaigns are publicly financed.

it is not at clear that Mayor Dixon sells herself at Filene's rates. Based on the admissions this week, it cost Developer Ron Lipscomb (Doracon) a small fortune for City Tax breaks to be granted to development projects that he is connected with. Of course he also presumably did benefit from the "brief intimate personal relationship" that he and the Mayor enjoyed. And any girl who can afford Jimmy Choo pumps on $80k a year must be doing something right.

Is this the same Keiffer Campaign that featured Daddy suing him? And that low bidder foolishness, I've got a box of low bidder ink pens that write once. Want some? I don't think low bidder should be the criteria for building a building.
