Burns Must Go
What a great Sunday morning at the farmers' market!
People started to show up at the gathering before it was even fully set up at around 8:45AM. I would say at least 150 people stopped by between 9AM and 10AM and most of them were there for when Anna Spoke at about 9:30. You should have heard the cheers when she started to talk. You could tell that many people there really felt for her and wanted to make a difference. There were all sorts of people there from all over the area. There was a great vibe there. Zach's mother cam all the way from Frederick to be there.
Flyers promoting a Fire Burns press conference/rally were being handed out all over the market. The event will take place at noon on Thursday in fron of the Mitchell Courthouse at 111 North Calvert Street.
The only public official who showed up was Steve Fogleman, the head of the liquor board.
Melody Simmons was there and she has already posted this article at the Daily Record. The Sun had a reporter there, channel 45 was there, and some other media outlets that I just do not remember.
Will this all make a difference? I can say that if the Mayor of Baltimore said anything about all this that this probably would be all over pretty soon. Anna encouraged everyone to keep emailing the Mayor and the City Council.
Of course there is State's Attorney Patricia Jessamy, or should I say Pharaoh Patricia Jessamy. The Pharaoh clearly has a hardened heart and she refuses to give in to the will of the people. Will the Pharaoh let Margaret Burns go after she is further shamed on Thursday? Time will tell.
Keep checking this website for more photos and videos from the event.

What a great cause and a great time. You have done so much for the Sowers family by refusing to let the story fade and it (and you) will not be forgotten by the voters someday!
You should also get a pic up that shows a few people there!
I'd hardly call the 150 who are estimated to have shown up "the will of the people" when there are about 500,000 in the city.
The voice of a small group of young white people will never be heard in Baltimore as long as middle aged black women are elected to run things. Better get used to the stonewalling until the demographics of the city change enough to elect different leaders.
On a similar note, the Baltimore Sun article that ran this morning quoted a woman from Timonium. It's funny how the people that care about the wellbeing of their neighborhood tend to leave town.
ddbs,
We have a problem with Pat Jessamy's incompetence, not her skin color. By the way, did you know that Margaret Burns is white?
If you have a problem with African-Americans being elected to political office, you might want to consider moving out of Maryland. Oklahoma or Utah might be better suited to your way of thinking.
The Sun article is interesting. It sounded sort of like it was against what Anna is doing. Maybe it was just me.
The obvious apparently escapes most people>>>>
Patricia Jessamy is the real problem, and she should not be allowed the luxury of resigning. She should be forced out of her job, and the people who can make that happen, is Y-O-U.
It's not just you, Neil. First, they have to comment on Adam using an old Ehrlich sign (Is he behind this?) and then they just HAVE to mention that Jessamy's old opponent Fogleman was "passing out fliers" (Was he behind this?). Neither of those comments added to the story, but they got to take a shot at the Examiner and Fogleman too. The Sun loves Jessamy. They really do. Burns gives them sccops. They were ticked that Adam and Anna, by their hard work, forced the Sun to have to cover a story about their pal Marty Burns. Nobody likes to bite the hand that feeds, so this was the Sun's way of giving back to Burns and Jessamy.
Patterson Park: Burns' skin color is completely irrelevant. This whole thing isn't even about her, as has been noted by all the purge Jessamy rhetoric. And she does happen to be a middle-aged black woman, as is every other of the highest ranking city officials.
If you think skin color doesn't matter in Baltimore you're blind. And if you think skin color doesn't factor into why the mayor or city council president hasn't weighed in on this you're dumb. And if you think you need something other than a seismic demographic shift in the city to ellicit any real change you're naive.
I find it ironic that Adam would use an Ehrlich sign given that Bobby Haircut is buddies with Pat Jessamy- given their mutual hatred of MOM.

I think you're on to something there.
He probably looked around for a big piece of cardboard and found one. Too bad it wasn't "Pat Jessamy for SA".
Got something to say?
