Despite republican efforts to freeze fixes to the American health insurance industry, President Barack Obama has fulfilled his campaign promise to open doors of opportunity for the uninsured.
The victory means that exclusions for pre-existing conditions will become a thing of the past. Children will be able to remain on their parents’ insurance policy until the age 26, and the practice of lifetime caps on payouts will end.
Some aspects of the bill will go into effect almost immediately, others will be phased in over the next few months and years.
Republican emotions ran high during the Sunday night vote on the House floor.
One GOP member from was unable to maintain his professional demeanor and violated rules by shouting,“Baby killer” at Democrat Bart Stupak (D-MI).
Minority Leader John Boehner was also running scared with his remark, "If we pass this bill, there will be no turning back," according to the Washington Post.
GOP rhetoric continues to include threats against incumbent democrats who supported the historic legislation, claiming it jeopardizes their 2010 re-election bids.
The November mid-terms are still a long way off and republicans may be underestimating the power of the political wind.

You think things are nasty? YOU HAVE NOT SEEN ANYTHING YET!
See you in November, I'll fly the flag until then...
The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
Loss of our freedom IS AN EXTREME DANGER to American life.
The United States of America has been in a state of Dire Distress since January 20, 2009.
Flying the flag upside down is not our right, it is our duty!
Flag flier - you're being a bit dramatic don't ya think?
It's not the end of the world. It's insurance reform. Get over it and chill out.
Yeah, it's insurance reform all right! Won't you pay for mine, Allen? No one should be MANDATED to buy anything through this government plan!
Well, gee, most of the most vocal Republicans are taking payola from the the big Health Insurance Companies, so what do you expect. These guys with their free Cadillac health plans who can't make it on their big salaries naturally need another source of income and if that harms JQ public, do you think they care? Republican is a code word for "I get mine first."
