Obama goes too far on Tonight Show

Denise Mandeville

The majority of the American people already angry about President Barack Obama's constant television presence were sent into a fury on Thursday night, when the media-hogging chief executive invaded the Tonight Show and took up an entire half-hour that could have been better used to plug a movie or look at a starlet's legs.

Even worse, the great Garth Brooks was delegated to playing a single song at the end, with the rolling credits obscuring the singer's face and shortening his performance.

On Friday morning, talk radio was on fire with criticism of Obama. "I wake up every morning and turn on the TV every day before I go to work and there he is on CNN," said one listener, calling in from Bremerton, WA. "Yap, yap, yap about the economy and stuff. I can live with that. But when he goes on Leno and cuts into Garth playing I am pee-eye-ess-tee, I tell you." Another caller from Glen Burnie, Md said he was tired of Obama's constant presence and that she "missed Bush, because he at least stayed out of my face.

"I voted for Obama, but I am beginning to regret this," she said.

The president's gaffe about the Special Olympics was not an issue, according to these listeners. Bremerton said he was getting a beer during that remark, while Glen Burnie said "oh yeah. That was actually pretty funny."

This is satire: But we really aren't used to seeing the president, everywhere.

What "majority already angry"? There is no basis for this suggestion. In fact, all the public opinion polling I've seen indicates that the public enjoys seeing Obama, and that his popularity goes up every time he gets more media play. This is more conservative fantasy.
I'm a conservative myself, but until we get out of the fantasy business, my friend, and start seeing the new changed world as it is, we're gonna be losers. Stop wishful thinking.
Get real. This guy kicked butt in the last election, and unless the Republican party can become relevant, they are gonna get beat up again in four years.

That would be "me" the majority that's already angry at him being all over television! Does he actually have a job and do anything? Or is Obama really just a travelling ambassador from the country of Taxandspendalot?

Gentlemen, thanks for writing and your passion is appreciated. But this is satire, and I made it up.
