Glenn Beck talked about Superman and Obama. AP Photo Evan Agostini
This week Glenn Beck seems to be trying to go with positive themes in reflection of the Christmas season. Beck's interview with Jay Leno was relatively lighthearted as Beck avoided any of the harsh rhetoric typically a part of his radio and television show. Meanwhile today focused his show on the discussion of heroes.
Beck said he decided to on the show's theme after reading his son a story. When he asked his son if the story had a good hero his son told him "no" because the character did not fly. The show was therefore meant to explain what really makes someone a "hero" and the various heroes in American history like George Washington.
However it seems that Beck could not resist going back to some of his Obama administration criticisms. After being told an uplifting story about George Washington Beck quipped that here in America we have "a picture of Mao Tse-Tung hanging in our White House." Beck then attacked the White House for publishing pictures of President Obama with the Presidential seal behind him. According to Beck the seal is somehow meant to make Obama look like a savior or Russian icon.
So in his show attempting to explain to America what a hero is Beck also told them that the White House worships communists and that the President is trying to be a messiah. So it seems according to Beck our "Supermans" should be attacking the "socialist government takeover" of health care in addition Lex Luther. The uninsured and the truth will be their kyptonite.

why would obama be included on a show with american heros? he's certainly not a hero, in this country anyway.
Obama is a hero in this country
Beck's interview with Jay Leno was lighthearted and he avoided ..harsh rhetoric (BUT YOU STILL TOOK THAT OPPORTUNITY TO ATTACK BECK) Don't you ever see the irony....
I never claimed to be hosting a Christmas show to discuss American heroes. I am simply pointing out Beck's attempt to seem all innocent and "Christmasy" while simultaneously lobbing insults at Obama.
However giving and honorable Beck claims to be, all of his antics are only to further his bankroll. He has to keep up this extreme anti-Obama persona to further the "controversial" theme so people on all sides will tune in. He's basically just an actor/character.
With all his grandiose talk I wonder if Beck actually gives to any charities, or if he even gives the full 10% that's goofily required by the Mormon church.
Ryan,
I thought you weren't going to argue with me anymore?
It just seems odd to me that you do not see how often you criticize others for doing exactly what you do.
Beck (and most Americans) do not want our country 'fundamentally transformed'. We don't like what Obama is doing to our country. We are going to draw attention to the damage he's doing every chance we get.
There's no better time to think about how much we love our country and want to preserve it for our children than at Christmas.
That doesn't make us 'bad'.
We're never going to stop complaining until he and those who think like him are out of power!!!
So you'll have a job attacking Beck for at least 3 more years....that's pretty good job security in this economy! Plus I think you enjoy it. You are actually very fortunate.
Have a Merry Christmas.
I think Clarissa makes a good point. If Beck hates forced payment of his money, why on earth would he be a Mormon with the 10% tithe? It defies logic.
Zack,
Your comment defies logic. It is his 'choice' to be a Mormon. And it is his 'choice' to pay a tithe. (which is in the bible and means 10%!)
