Sarah Palin has certainly not been bashful in advocating somewhat controversial views. Palin trumpeted the "death panel" myth when it came to health care reform and then went on the advocate "profiling" of Muslims after the Fort Hood shootings. Now Palin has also decided to join in on the birther conspiracy theory.
In the video clip below Palin expresses support for the birther movement saying that the "public" is "rigtfully making it an issue." She went on the call the birth certificate issue a "fair question" that should be pressed on Obama in the next election.
By advocating for the birther conspiracy Palin goes even further than fellow conspiray theorist Glenn Beck who has said it is not helpful to even argue about the birth certificate issue. This may create problems for their hypothetical Palin-Beck ticket in 2012. Besides Glenn Beck others may have an issue with Palin's comments for the following reasons:
(1) Palin assumes in her comments that President Obama has not produced a birth certificate but in fact the President has produced a legitimate birth certificate certified as legtimate by the State of Hawaii.
(2) Contrary to Palin's assertion that the "public" is bringing up the birth certificate issue polls show that a large majority of Democrats and independents do believe the President was born in the United States. It is only about half of Republicans (who represent a small minority of the overall population) along with a few others who actually support the birther questions.
(3) Later in the interview Palin goes on the justify the birther questions by saying the same type of questions were asked about the birth of her son Trig. Some of the more radical, and mean spirited liberals accused Trig of being birthed by Palin's daughter. This conspiracy theory was of course outlandish and as Palin points out but she goes on to compare the birther issue to the issue of her son's birth. So to Palin if one group of radicals makes bold accusations with no proof it is acceptable for her to make equally bold accusations against the other side.
(4) The birth certificate release by the President has also been checked by the non-partisan organizations of Factcheck.org and Politifact. Both organizations said the document was legitimate and real and that there is no real question as to the citizenry of the President. Both organization have also shown a willingness to call out President Obama on other issues when they believed he had distorted the facts. In addition numerous other conservatives like Bill O' Reilly, who have proven themselves to be no fan of the President, have disavowed the birther conspiracy as crazy.
Despite all this evidence Palin still seems to the think the birther conspiracy is something worth considering in the clip below.

Most Jr High students could research for a few hours on the internet and blow holes in most all you wrote and actually have real facts to back up their ideas on what you have assumed to be the truth.

Reality Check.... NO ONE has shown Obama was born in Hawaii.. NO ONE has verified that to be a FACT... ALL information that hasn't been buried,stolen,hidden...points to something other than a birth in Hawaii.

Like every other patriotic American, Sarah has the right and the obligation to demand proof of Obama's eligibility. As tax paying citizens, we are now his employer. And as employers, we have an even greater responsibillity to demand proof of his qualifications to serve.
Our elected representatives failed in their duty to obtain the proof before he was employed. However, that does not free him of the obligation to present proof.
Just as no individual statement can suffice for documented evidence of an employee's qualification to serve, no verbal statement of a biased official in Hawaii or elsewhere can suffice for documented proof of Obama's birth.
In fact his place of birth is irrelevant because, as he has admitted, he was born a Brittish citizen as a result of his father's Kenyan citizenship and can never qualify as a "natural born citizen" as required by the U.S. Constitution no matter where his birth took place.

No, Obama has never produced a birth certificate. What he posted was a "certification", which was merely a 2007, computer-generated print-out signed by Hawaii official attesting to the fact that they had look at some unidentified "vital records." No one has ever seen the original 1961 certificate (not "certification") signed by the delivering physician.
So the certification proves nothing. I could sign an affidavit saying "I have seen something equivalent to the Magna Carta", but to then say that the affidavit WAS the Magna Carta would be plain silly.

Neither of those organization is non-partisan, and FactCheck.org is run by the Annenberg Foundation, on whose board Obama once sat. Additionally, Factcheck's piece on the birth certificate starts out with a big, fat, demonstrable LIE -- they say they examined "the original" when all they looked at was the 2007, computer-generated certification.

I couldn't care less about this conspiracy, but it is curious that my 16 year old daughter had to present a 'certified birth certificate' yesterday to get a driver's license, but that it is not required to be president; though it is the only way to prove the constitutional requirement is met.
Why doesn't he just present one. I think it's either because he can't or because he benefits from the ridicule of conservatives over it.
It's also curious that my son in his position in the military had to get a security clearance. Obama, with his radical communist connections, etc. could never have passed the scrutiny and yet here he is 'Commander and Chief' Someone explain that one to me!

It seems to me, folks are questioning why the same certificate we all have, that presumably Barry Husein has also, hasn't been produced for people to actually see.

We also haven't 'seen' McCain's birth certificate - and his derivative citizenship absolutely calls into question whether or not he meets the 'natural born' requirement, since the courts have never addressed derivative citizenship.

You don't get it, jaime - McCain was born of US citizen parents IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY.
Long before McCain was born, that was determined to be "derivative citizenship" - derived from the citizenship of one or both parents and generally considered a variant of naturalization.
But the courts have NEVER determined whether or not "derivative citizenship' qualifies as "natural born" under the Constitution; in fact, federal court rulings leave it very much in question.
The Congress-critters passed a non-binding resolution that McCain met the standard, with Clinton and Obama voting to approve - but it has NO strength of law.
Military parents with kids born overseas all have this issue; it's generally ignored because, except for the 'natural born' requirement to be president, the source of citizenship doesn't make any difference.
Yeah but what I do get is that McCain was "on a path" so to speak recognized by Congress. Whereas Obama didn't have both parents being citizens AND he may possibly have been born in either Kenya or Hawaii. But his "parents" weren't on a mission for the US Government at the time along with his father not being a US citizen, nor a member of the Military.
Also we all KNEW of McCain's situation BEFORE and DURING the election. We STILL don't have the kind of certificate from Barry Hussein (obama)/ Sotero, that EACH of US in the USA has and that IF he was indeed "Hatched" in Hawaii he would ALSO have. If he does....SHOW IT!
