Video: Sarah Palin goes to Arizona to help old running mate Sen. John McCain

Today conservative icon Sarah Palin took a trip down to Tucson, Arizona to help her old running mate Sen. John McCain. Despite being one of the senior members of the Senate Sen. McCain faces a serious primary challenge from former U.S. Representative J.D. Hayworth.

Hayworth was thought to be politically dead after being implicated in the Jack Abramoff scandal but appears to have risen from the ashes after being defeated in the 2006 midterm elections.

Hayworth is riding a wave of conservative populism in an attempt to dethrone Senator McCain from his long held Senate seat. Hayworth appeals to more of the Tea Party crowd who sees McCain's former position on issues like immigration too moderate for their liking. Hayworth has called himself the "true conservative" and consistently uses the word "moderate" when referring to Senator McCain.

In order to counter Hayworth's appeal to conservatives Sen. McCain brought in his secret weapon in Sarah Palin. Palin owes much of her fame to Sen. McCain after he picked her as his Vice Presidential candidate in 2008. Before then Palin was a relative unknown up in Alaska but since that time she has become a household name. Palin returned the favor by speaking to a large crowd in Arizona about Sen. McCain's qualification for office and remind them of his "maverick" spirit in the Senate. Much of Palin's speech appears to have been read but she did appear to divert from the script a few times. At one point Palin addressed the recent threats against Democratic lawmakers. Palin criticized the "lamestream" media for their coverage of the threats. Palin also railed against what she calls "Obamacare" recently passed by Congress.

She owes McCain, but I doubt she will help him enough to overncome his own record.

Helping the liberal McCain is Sarah's biggest mistake. This effectively ends her political career among conservative voters.

Sarah Palin has a very lucrative future working the wingnut welfare circuit for as long as she wants. The bumpersticker mentality crowd loves her and will lap up whatever she doles out.

    McCain,
By bumper sticker mentality crowd, you must mean the mindless chanters of 'hope & change & yes we can!' while ignoring all evidence of what that means and 'lapping up' the idea that life was going to be a bowl of cherries with never another care in the world. It's impossible to have a bumper sticker mentality crowd dumber than that!

    Gigi,
Good comment!! But how to do you think the libtards are feeling now that their crack induced euphoria is wearing off? Was it P.T. Barnum who said there is a sucker born every minute...?

    Good on'Ya Mitch and Gigi,

But it looks like we are having TWO Liberal Suckers born every minute now...what with the "anchor baby" program and all.

I have stated my respect for Sarah Palin MANY times....but this is really disappointing. More of the same old Powers that Be Good ol Boy political B*llS**T..!

We HAVE to break this habit or we are going nowhere.

Just like the rest of America I want to know what she is wearing underneath all that leather!
John McCain is the poster child for term limits on senators. He is a massive progressive. Like Glenn Beck says progressives will change their image AND their history. John McCain is now morphing into something else. Like a leopard can change its spots. He'll do anything to get 6 more years. Like a junkie he needs one more fix. This is one guy that needs to do something else, like maybe work for Acorn.
Hey Senator where were you 20 years ago when we could have used your help to defend our liberty. You were the maverick in the senate legislating it away for the cause of bipartisanship. Look where bipartisanship has gotten us in the defense of liberty. That's OUR liberty you gave away. Now liberty has vaporized, gone and you want the Tea party support? There is no legislation that is worth the price to our liberty from federal government intrusion. You have helped create Tyrany in our time.

klatoo, remember there are all kinds we need to keep as allies. No one side can claim all. If Palin wants to support McCain and then go to Searchlight Nevada, Reid's hometown and give a fiery speech that points the cross-hairs in the right direction, shoots a shot across the bow, re-group and re-load, take aim at targets that will remove the head of the beast, then we need her and McCain.
Remember, Pelosi in San FranSissyco is the MODERATE candidate there if there was a open election.

    @ Fear,

I Fear the Democrats getting McCain's seat too. But what is the difference if he Sponsors Bills like McCain-Fiengold, and backs amnesty (in another name) bills. He really IS a Trojan horse within the Republican party (the Blue Blood Version). Who is the Republican trying for his seat??

Basically if we keep voting in RINOs we don't even really HAVE a republican party, let alone a Conservative one.

I have a very bad feeling about all this....And I suspect all this backing of McCain and others like him is EXACTLY what the Liberal-Democrats want.
