Immediately following Ted Kennedy's death conservative commentators, including Limbaugh himself, were quick to condemn Democrats for politicizing the death of Ted Kennedy. The argument was that this is time to honor and memorialize the man and not push for the passage of health care reform after his passing.
Curiously however the same commentators seem to be silent regarding the behavior of one of their own after Kennedy's death. While people like Sean Hannity have at least feigned deference to Kennedy in not personally attacking him Rush Limbaugh has been ruthless in literally attacking a man after he is down. You know you truly lack any class when Sean Hannity is showing more civility toward liberals than you.
In the two clips below Rush Limbaugh attacks Ted Kennedy's patriotism and drinking problems at a time when his family mourns his death. First Limbaugh's attack wreaks of hypocrisy since he has an infamous history with substance abuse himself. Secondly, even if Limbaugh were not being a hypocrite he surely should recognize the poor timing of his attacks. There is a time for brutal attacks and a time for pause and restraint. Limbaugh's personal attacks at this time truly show a lack of civility. At the very least Limbaugh could have restricted to criticism to Kennedy's actual policy decisions rather than attacking the man's character after he has died.
Besides condemning Limbaugh the conservative media deserves condemnation for their silence as well. While conservative commentators attacked Democrats for politicizing Kennedy's death Limbaugh gets a free pass from them when he explicitly attacks Kennedy's character. This incident has revealed once again that Limbaugh rules the conservative world as everyone seems to be afraid to confront Rush even when he is obviously in the wrong.

Limbaugh did not attack Kennedy's character. Limbaugh appears to have stated facts which depict Kennedy's LACK of character.
There are no personal attack in these videos, explicit or otherwise.
The more that liberals complain about Rush, the more effective his critisms become!

The man's character affected his politics. Ted Kennedy was a despicable man and a disgrace to all Americans. Rush is right!
Rush is not only right about Kennedy the lush that left a girl to drown, is responsible for chain migration, created the HMO and insurance regulations that helped raise insurance cost to it’s current level, and yes, worked against his country to protect communism both when Reagan was in office and during the Vietnam war. He did more to harm The United States and to undermine The Constitution than anything else. That is the unvarnished truth, whether you accept it or not it is rooted in fact.
The other thing that Rush was right about is that most on the left will reject a proven fact that they don’t like for a flagrant lie that they wish were true. Think Man Made Global Warming.
While I think Rush is kinda a jackass, what he said is true, although lacking tact. But I am curious as to why it matters that he is dead. Why in our society does someones death automatically make them untouchable? Just because he died doesn't mean what he did with his time here on earth and the legacy he will leave behind is not important. Bile runs in the veins of Rush Limbaugh. One day, when he chokes on it and too dies, America will not mourn his contributions to a better life for citizens of our dear country....for he has made no contributions, other than to spread poison.
Rush was absolutely correct in pointing out Ted Kennedy's faults. You liberals are sick for trying to honor a man who left a 28 year old women to drown, just to save his own skin. Oh, I realize she was just a fluzy bimbo to Ted Kennedy and his other (married) rich buddies, but she was actually a human being that deserved much better than to be used and left to die by someone of such low moral character as Ted Kennedy. I love the way the liberal media is running all these stories about how deep his Catholic faith was and how religious he was. This man was evil. It's so sickening to read all that garbage. It comes as no suprise that Rush would trash Ted Kennedy. What bothers me the most is the fact that Rush has his own demons. Who is he to judge?

It is sad that some people are so quick to throw stones. Ted Kennedy had his problems and his demons. But I believe that he did His best to make a positive differance regarding health care and equality for all mankind. God rest his soul and those that are so judgemental hopefully they will recieve more mercy and forgiveness than they give others.

Funny how they couldn't find any recent pictures of Mr. Limbaugh for this article and instead used a shot from before he went on a diet. Funny how the "compassionate liberals" like to make fun of the man's weight problem.
