Ever since Abraham Lincoln a U.S. President has followed a tradition of pardoning a turkey on the day before Thanksgiving. After being pardoned the turkey goes off to live the rest of its days at Disneyland. The event is humorous for most though PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) takes it seriously and even asks the President to go further in having an vegetarian meal for Thanksgiving.
This year the President will pardon a turkey named "Courage." The turkey is currently residing in the same hotel as the Prime Minister of India, Mammohan Singh who was in town for the State Dinner recently held at the White House. After being pardoned Courage will get a first-class plane ride to Disneyland where I am sure he will be happy.
Unfortunately for Sarah Palin nearly every story about the Presidential turkey pardon (including this one) now also includes a reference to Palin's "turkey slaughter." Last year Palin pardoned a turkey in her hometown of Wasilla only to later do an interview while other turkeys are being slaughtered in the background. The video immediately went viral on the internet and the media then quickly grabbed on to the story.
The first clip below is the Obama administration's preview of the turkey pardon to be handed out today. The second clip is of Palin's turkey pardon followed by the infamous "slaughter" afterward. Not that the the Palin clip is somewhat graphic.

It's ironic that Obama pardons a Turkey named courage when we are having to pardon courage everyday as the terrorists press charges against OUR soldiers!
Obama is a turkey and he sends our troops to slaughter by "dithering"- and not giving his generals and troops on the ground what they need NOW!

I think I'd back Condoleeza Rice or Angelina Jolie in a heartbeat in comparison to this apparently well-meaning but clueless lady.
Perhaps we should enter her into Lifetime's over 40 model competition.. she can dress well, be popular, make money and stay out of things over her head
Madame Palin, you are beautiful but please stay out of politics, for the good of the intelligent country
