Video: Keith Olbermann gives his take on Sarah Palin's interview with Oprah

Sarah Palin's interview with Oprah finally aired today.  AP Photo Al Grillo

The much anticipated interview between Sarah Palin and Oprah Winfrey finally aired today.  Not surprisingly Keith Olbermann did not have positive reviews of Palin in his coverage.  While Olbermann did not provide extensive commentary on the interview his Olbermann-style wrath could be felt in the way in which he went over each of Palin's answers.

The one explicit criticism Olbermann had for Palin was for her use of the word usage when describing her current career status.  Palin told Oprah that since her loss in the presidential election she is not retreating but "reloading."  Olbermann thought the use of the word of "reloading" was insensitive following the Fort Hood shootings last week.  Palin supporters  would likely argue the connection of Palin's phrase with the Fort Hood shootings is a stretch to say the least.

The other major clip of the interview gaining attention is Palin's attack on Katie Couric.  Palin essentially accuses Couric of playing "gotcha" journalism and insulting Palin's intelligence by asking her what magazines she reads.  Some have said that "what do you read" is hardly a "gotcha" question and that Palin is now simply making excuses for what was a poor interview.

Do people really watch Olbermann? For all the talk about right-wing commentators and them hurting the party... you've got bigger problems with your Olberdork.

I tend to agree with you BDJ, although I'm more of a left leaning guy myself but Keith Olbermann and guys like Sean Hannity are basically on the same level of ignorance in my eyes. Olbermann seems to basically be the answer to those guys, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Greta, Ann Coulter, etc. I mean, his news broadcast character is essentially a created character to answer those ignorant broadcasters. If you watch him on Sunday Night Football he's not nearly as unlikeable, and in fact is great at his job there (yes I was amazed myself) But if you're gonna slam Keith, slam your guys too, cuz they're just as bad.

    Walrus:
    Thank you.

    As for the article:

Ryan, at least you acknowledged that it was a stretch for Olbermann to link her 'reload' comment with Fort Hood.

I've watched him for probably 20 minutes total while channel surfing, at a friends house, and he has always been nasty and hateful!

If he has career I can see why there's a market for the kind of creepiness that TAXEXEMPGOD (a poster on this site) has to sell.

What I would like to point out is the disrespectful, sexist way conservative women are treated by so called 'liberal' men and women in the media, including the way we are treated on this site.

It's one thing to disagree politically, but the comments are almost never about politics. Why are liberals always being 'personal'. Can it be that they will lose nearly every argument if it is kept to 'politics'? That has been my experience!

    And another thing...

This isn't really about Sarah Palin.

It is about the elite media and the career politicians being threatened by 'normal Americans' who come up through the ranks, starting with the school districts and city councils; realizing that things aren't right and that they can make a difference!

They don't go to Harvard or Princeton and they don't care about political correctness. Like Michele Bauchman, they just speak out with common sense and honesty! They threaten the status quo!

The status quo needs to be threatened!

How so many can be fooled into opposing those who speak out against this corrupt system and who actually speak for them, says a lot about the power of this liberal media and the foot hold of corruption in both parties.

Pelosi can get away with quoting nonexitent biblical scriptures, making a statement about 500 million Americans losing jobs (there are <300)

We don't think she's stupid, because the media would tell us, right?

    Hello Everyone,

I am all for normal, ordinary people "rising through the ranks" and not going to Harvard or Princeton. However, you MUST be QUALIFIED for the position of President or Vice President. Sarah Palin would not only be dealing with American lives but she would be communicating with people internationally. Saying the wrong things in situations like that would be dangerous. I just don't believe Sarah Palin is qualified to handle that type of position. Especially if she felt a question like "what magazines do you read' is a difficult "gotcha" question?

    Monique:

What would make a man with experience as a Community Organizer and a few months as a senator, more qualified than a woman with experience as Mayor and a few months as a governor?

And if saying stupid things: "we've been to 57 states" and doing stupid things "giving an ipod as a gift to the queen" of England, disqualifies someone from being president, we should be working on impeachment!

And one more response to Monique:

If saying 'wrong things internationally could be dangerous', how in the world did Mr Biden qualify to be the Chairmn of the Foreign Relatons Commitee, let alone be the vice president! No politician I've heard has made a fool of himself or stuck his foot in his mouth more than he has.

Palin could not be worse that these two!

Hola Hola ! He says he doesn't drink beer....so I shudder to think What exactly he might be sleeping off. LOL Then again he might be perusing a grammar book.....well,It could happen!

I really would like some of these posters to say EXACTLY why Obama is qualified to be President...even now after 10 1/2 months. No?

    Jaime:

That was the most bazaar part of the campaign.

How the democrats could nominate someone as inexperienced as Obama for president and have the unmitigated gall to then criticize Palin for being too inexperienced to run for VP.

I'll never get how anybody bought that one! Never!

People like 'Monique' with her comment below show just how stupid America has become. Monique proclaims that palin's lack of experience is dangerous yet look at Obama bowing down and apologizing all around the world. For a liberal to completely disregard the facts of the damage Obama has already done internally speaks the the level of intellect those on the left have. Lefty's completely disregard facts that's way any non-liberals cannot have a discussion. You liberals are a bunch of blooters.

i know palin is a idiot, but what is surprising to me is all the people that are following her.they keep talking about taking back this country,do the white people that hate obama mean take back the white house form a black man or what.they make it seem like there not racist.but they are.i see palin has picked up her relgion again.if you think palin will make a good president you really are a fool.if she became president in 2012 then i know the world would end. ps how come only white people are following her,i didnt see too many blacks in her book lines

Johnn, you are the idiot. You can't see any explanation for anything unless it's race. Maybe the reason black people aren't queuing up to buy Palin's book (if indeed that is the case) is that they don't care to be labeled Uncle Toms by the likes of you.

People talking about taking the country back are hardly focusing on your idol Obama - they are referring to the entire socialist machine that is steamrolling over the Constitution. You apparently have not bothered to read about the movement to sweep out all the supposed representatives who are not representing their constituent -- the majority of these traitors are white.

Having said that - Palin and the Fox News pseudo conservatives are pawns of the same people who control Obama. Get serious and find out who buys and pays for politicans regardless of their political party.

I am myself a conservative but I am not at all satisfied with the direction the republican party is taking. The party seems to be shifting to a far right almost radical stace; it infuriates me that the republicans of today are protesting this health bill yet don't have an alternative! How is this at all constructive? As for Fox News they are stirring this pot of hatred and radicalism. Watching Glen Beck makes me sick please for the love of god move the republican party back to the center so we can get rid of these liberals in office who have nothing better to do than run up the national deficit.
