Video: Glenn Beck's most recent attacks on Van Jones and 9/11 Truth reveal his own hypocrisy

Glenn Beck's attack should tell him about himself.  AP Evan Agostini

Today Glenn Beck continued the war on Van Jones with yet another "damaging" revelation and demands for answers.  I found it curious that Beck later said that it would not even matter if Obama fired Van Jones as it is now about the "system."  So then why is Beck focusing on Van Jones for an entire episode if it is not about Van Jones?  Regardless Beck's attacks on Van Jones today were a perfect refutation of himself.  Let me explain.

Beck condemned Van Jones for signing a petition from the 9/11 Truth Organization.  In something that seemed eerily like a hostage situation Beck kept a clock ticking threatening to reveal this damning information unless the White House answered his questions.  Then Beck said before the clock winded down that he was going to reveal the information no matter what the President did.  Just another sign that Beck is anti-Obama rather than against anything Obama stands for.

So what is the 9/11 Truth Organization?  Their central belief seems to be that the government in some way allowed terrorists attacks on 9/11 or that the government actually orchestrated the attacks themselves.  The twisted reasoning of the organization is that the government wanted the attacks to happen so that they could take more power, restrict civil liberties (i.e. Patriot Act), and go to war (i.e. Iraq).  The petition that Van Jones signed had much softer language then that found on the organization website.  The petition does not specifically advocate a conspiracy theory but instead asks question after question that they demand an answer to in response to their arguments.

Let me first say I believe the 9/11 Truth Organization's theories are bogus.  I have seen various documentaries on the alleged conspiracy theory and read some of the organization's material.  In the end I was unconvinced that our government was that evil to allow or perpetrate an attack.  Like many conspiracy theories (i.e. Birthers) their argument I find mostly relies on the lack of evidence from the other side rather than any hard evidence they have themselves.  Finally, I can not believe that our government could cover up such a grand conspiracy under the nose of the public and press.  Call me naive if you wish I will call myself reasonable.

I do not believe Van Jones should have signed the petition.  in the end I think this more a sign of stupidity than any evil intentions by Van Jones.  Having said that I must bring us back to the question I have always had which is, "What the heck does this have to do with green jobs?"  Beck and the Van Jones opponents still have yet to point me to one actual statement or decision by Van Jones since he has been in office which show he is a communist, or racist, or tyrant, or conspiracy theorist.  Why are we not focusing on the actual job Van Jones is doing rather than completely unrelated facts?

Ultimately I find the weakness of Beck's argument comes from his arguments in the past.  Beck condemns the 9/11 Truth Organization and Van Jones for allegedly believing these crazy conspiracy theories yet he uses the same reasoning for his conspiracy theories.  Beck consistently "proves" that the Obama administration is establishing a tyranny by merely asking "questions."  When the questions go unanswered because they are too ridiculous to answer Beck counts that as confirmation of his theory just like the 9/11 Truth Organization.  Look to this Beck segment on the alleged "civilian national security force" as an example.

Beck also condemns Van Jones for allegedly believing that our government was capable of such a heinous act as perpetrating the death of thousands, yet Beck himself consistently suggests to his audience that the Obama administration wants an "emergency" in order to seize power.  Beck's conspiracy theories actually match up quite well with the reasoning of the 9/11 Truth Organization.  Beck has even gone as far as to suggest that President Obama's health care reform will be part of some overall Nazi eugenics program.  So if we condemn Van Jones for giving the 9/11 Truth Organization credence, must we not also condemn Beck for giving his own scary theories credence?

So let me get this straight, Beck presents visual and auditory evidence that show the degree to which our President seems to be okay with surrounding himself with radicals and you're concerned with the degree to which BECK's a conspiracist? I don't always find his arguments to be terribly compelling, but the preponderance of what he presented tonight can't simply be dismissed. If Jones indeed believes that our government is capable of killing 3000 citizens for (insert insidious goal here), this puts him squarely in a camp of people I don't want anywhere near the helm of this country. Obama's appointment of this individual to a post that gives him direct access to the president indicates that the president (once again) has shown to be a poor judge in character or supports Jones' point of view. Neither of these options gives me a great deal of confidence in the President.

J Dub, I agree. Thank you. Why is it that the loon left will attack Beck personally while completely ignoring the facts that he presented, which were pretty compelling. I'm not a big Beck fan, but those people (Van Jones included) said what they were depicted saying. Why is the media ignoring this?

Your comment... "Beck and the Van Jones opponents still have yet to point me to one actual statement" <cut> "he is a communist, or racist, or tyrant, or conspiracy theorist."

Then clearly you weren't watching that closely. Jones' comments about the US giving the Native American's the crappy land which is now payback time because they desreve retribution and the redistribution of wealth from (apparently) the white American's is outrageous. His statement that the "white man" (said twice) is poising the black community is outrageous. His statement when talking about putting solar panels on tractors "we ain't gonna change just 'da solar panel, we is gonna change 'da whole thing!!!! Da whole thing!!!" is irresponsible, a poor use of grammer, and presents a poor image of the white house and green energy overall. He also spoke about clening the water and what I presume to mean feces, prounced "feshies." He is grammatically challenged and doesn't belong within miles of the president.

I can't help but laugh at the irony here. Mr. Conspiracy is against these questions being asked? Why, because it was a republican administration? Please, how stupid do you think your viewers are Mr Beck? I am not saying that a Obama is a Marxist, but Obama is a Marxist. If you buy into this nonsense put his transcript into microsoft word and have "leftists" change to "conservatives" and vice versa, then imagine it was 7 years ago.
This guy is mindfully mis-informing the 30% that still thinks that Iraq caused 9-11.

Misplaced concern about Beck.....your concern would be better spent defending the Prez and trying to explain why he surrounds himself with people like Van Jones....whose past is alarming. In my everyday life I do not associate with people who so radically and arrogantly reject my beliefs and values...for good reason...I wonder why Obama does.

Obama continues to surround himself with puppets, radicals, people that profess to be Dr.'s, and they are supposed to aid him in guiding the direction of our Nation? How do you lead a Nation, while promoting racism? Isn't there a saying that says "let sleeping dogs lie"? Our nation is now a total disgrace, and I am sure all other foreign countries are laughing. He is supposed to lead our nation, not destroy or divide it. It is a sad thing that we are witnessing. Heaven help us all if we have a brain and can speak. What is next? Just wait until the next election. I think you guys in Washington will be very surprised, as there will truly be a big CHANGE come then.I certainly don't want the man talking to my kids in school; I think he needs to be exerting his voice to adults that are not radicals or communists. If you want to blame anyone for the 9-11 attacks, blame the Clintons for being oblivious for America's welfare. And you guys are worried about Glenn Beck? He calls a spade a spade.

What do you mean? There is video evidence of Van Jones. There is no evidence proving the conspiracy theories of the Truthers. Fortunately in today's youtube society we have such a great tool like youtube that also gives us excellent evidence to prove that the democrats were against the republican's attempts to place restrictions on Fannie/Freddie as well as the subprime loans.

If someone wants to look, start with this video www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTbIb75JdwY and watch the democrats from 2004 fighting against Fannie/Freddie and Maxine Waters stating that "we do not have a problem" and "under the outstanding leadership of Frank Raines." Includes Barney Frank and others as well. No one is asking for the $90 million in compensation back.

Randy, you think that Bush starting a preemptive war based on rhetoric and lies was ok in the worlds view? Because of the Iraq war more than 4,000 soldiers have died. That was caused by our government. How were the Clintons oblivious, 9-11 happened on Bush's watch? If we got hit again could Obama blame Bush? But Bush can blame Clinton?

    Absolutely weak.

Reading your comments on Glenn Beck goes to show that this country could very well be led down a road by people like Van Jones and God help us Obama. If a white man had said the very same words as Van Jones said numerous times and changed the word white to black my oh my how we would hear the walls shake with Racism. I guess the white, black, red and any other color will now be commrades together. Try setting your feelings aside and look at the truth if you can get past your own egos.

I don't care what type of person Glenn Beck is, but I do care what type of person Van Jones is because he is an advisor to the president and could shape the future of the country for the better or worse. It is a fundamental duty of every tax payer in the country to question his views because we are not only paying his salary but also he has the power to direct millions of dollars. I wish for once your article can give an unbiased opinion about Van Jones without mentioning Glenn's name.

Willy Wonka, go play in your toy factory. Sounds like that might be mentally challenging for even you; even better, are you afraid to use your real name, for fear of what? Are you a relative of Jones? If you had paid attention, it was Cigar Bill that ignored the fact that Bin Laden had made threats to our country and was a known terrorist, and did nothing, not George Bush! As usual the Democrats were not paying attention...Clinton was too busy chasing skirts. Do your homework, before you jump in a conversation that totally shows your ignorance. Also, here is a quote from www.moonbattery.com from Jones."I met all these young radical people of color – I mean really radical: communists and anarchists. And it was, like, 'This is what I need to be a part of.' I spent the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary," he said. Did you catch the IN JAIL? What kind of thugs are running this country??

It's obvious that the ignorantsia are easily manipulated by his versatile weeping and ranting. Was it Stupidity or Evil ? Obama needs to answer this question as it pertains to the Van Jones appointment .

The position that he holds requires no vetting by congress And, apparently none by the administration either.

Your outcry that Van Jones has committed no sin while he has held this recent appointment job is to again miss the point.. How did a radical like this get appointed in the first place is the question that needs to be answered.

The intellectual acrobatics that it takes to be a liberal is beyond amazing.

I am no fan of Beck, but you create a false analogy. Beck argues that Obama wants to take advantage of an emergency to radically change the American system using subtle baby steps. Truthers argue that Bush created/allowed an evil in order to go to war. Big difference in taking advantage of a situation and creating one.

Next stop, read some progressive history in the form of the naked communist. You'll learn why all of this is going on, and that it's not a conspiracy it's a plan of action. Simple belief here is that religion is bogus and science is right. Science is saying earth will not sustain unless population is reduced and resources aren't eaten up so quickly. The estimate is 2 Billion people, we have 6 billion now. 1/3 of population needs to die according to progressives (bible says this too by the way over 1500 years ago). The writing is on the wall if you just know where to look. It's not crazy, it's just not well known by the general public.

An incoherent and flawed argument. 1) Glenn Beck is not in a policy position at the White House; the foolishness of his own conspiracy theories don't validate or justify Jones'. 2) "What the heck does it have to do with Green policy?" Seriously? When the past acts of an official prove that his judgment is suspect---and anyone buying in to the "Truther" conspiracy has a screw loose, probably many---it is extremely relevant. It is relevant to trustworthiness and competence. And Jones is also lying now: he wouldn't sign his name and organization to a national petition without reading it, and the organization says it confirmed his endorsement orally. So, let's see: he lies to the press and the public; he irresponsibly attached his non-profit to a radical fringe conspiracy theory that defies logic and fairness, and he was gullible (or stupid, to use your word) enough to buy into a paranoid theory. And yet you say he's still qualified for a national policy position! Ridiculous.
