There has been much ado about the resignation of Van Jones, the President's "Green Jobs Czar." Why wasn't there more concern over his hiring? There were no investigative reporters to point out his Marxist leanings or his 9/11 Trutherism? Van Jones didn't merely "sign a petition," he was an organizer of a Truther event.
Van Jones was done in by that conspiracy thinking and tried to play it off as if he didn't read the fine print. If that were true, he wouldn't have had to resign and he could have forcefully denounced the idea that President Clinton, President Bush and most of the Intelligence community, were hiding damning information that Americans really perpetrated 9/11 and then blamed it on Muslims.
Instead he portrayed himself as a misunderstood victim and most of the media has let him get away with it. They have also let him get away with many seemingly radical activities in his past that he cloaked in a shroud of fighting for civil rights.
One of his ventures was a police watchdog outfit. It spawned various cells like Copwatch.com, which some claim Jones created. Copwatch.com has a bold piece of 9/11 Trutherism in which they blame the NYPD for the deaths sustained by the FDNY. They write "the failure of the NYPD to share vital information with the FDNY in a timely manner contributed to the horrific carnage among the firemen."
Google "copwatch RE-EVALUATING NYPD PERFORMANCE ON 9-11" and read for yourself. This is considered acceptable thinking more and more in the Democrat Party. Oh no you say? Then how did Van Jones get hired? Does the White House not have access to the Internet?
They do and President Obama approved of this man's background. After all, he was not fired. Van Jones, who is becoming known as Truther Van Jones, is truly the tip of the iceberg. His Green For All group is instrumental in President Obama's 9/11 whitewash this year. The President had picked Van Jones as the figure to lead America away from the patriotic memorializing and somber mood of 9/11, to an abortion of Arbor Day called Green Your Block.
Green For All still seems determined to pave over 9/11 but I don't think the administration is so eager to follow through now. All of these things lead one to wonder about President Obama's judgement. It is obvious that Van Jones himself had an agenda to make 9/11 a more "progressive friendly" day, as it is seen as a "Republican day" by many Democrats since those brutal attacks took place. For Van Jones' organizations to mobilize this effort, there is no way the 9/11 conspiracy thinking escaped the administration. It is this very thinking that devalues the event from an attack to a political event.
We shall see if President Obama exercises good judgment on this 9/11. He said on Inauguration day " it is time to put away childish things." Here's to hoping that he does.

Mr. Bordini, could you please shed some light on your source for the claim that Van Jones has anything to do with copwatch.com? It seems clear you didn't do any research for your shallow editorial. Jones founded Bay Area Police Watch, which is not the same as Copwatch, which is merely a name available to any group adhering to some general principles of police observation and accountability. Copwatch.com, as far as I know, is not affiliated with Bay Area Police Watch, Van Jones, or any particular local Copwatch. But I suppose people without facts, who are too lazy to research, tend to use "some claim" statements.
As for the communication between NYPD and FDNY on 9/11, either it's true or it isn't (I haven't done any research on this, and I doubt you have either). Why is it about "acceptable thinking" and not facts one way or the other?
In closing, get your head out of your ass, and editorialize honestly. Polemic is fine, but your right wing radio talking points are tired.

Google is a very easy tool to put two words together with, even you can do it.

Anyway, it's good to know the extent of your research has been to google "van jones" and "copwatch." I'm not sure if you're familiar of the concept "burden of proof," but within journalism, a profession which you seem to have heard of, the burden of proof is on the journalist. It doesn't work to just say "GOD, DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. IT'S OBVIOUS." It's your job, and if you give no evidence for an unlikely claim, it's fair to consider it unfounded.
The truthers at least give "evidence," though most of it has been soundly refuted.
To be clear, I'm not a truther. I don't think the Bush administration the attack, I don't think they "let it happen" (except perhaps through incompetence), and I don't believe in any cabal (except perhaps the informal conspiracy of idiot right wing journalists).
My point remains: Why are claims about the NYPD not "acceptable thinking"? Either they're true or they aren't.
P.S. Employers googling names is EXACTLY why people might not use their real names.
