This week's CPAC (Conservative Political Action Convention) will include nearly every conservative leader including but not limited to former Vice President Dick Cheney, former Governor Mitt Romner, Governor Tim Pawlenty, Rush Limbaugh, and Glenn Beck. However it will curiously not include Sarah Palin who is the person most identified with the conservative movement at this time.
POLITICO is reporting that Palin is upset with the organizer of the event and therefore refusing to attend. Specifically Palin is upset with David Keene of the American Conservative Union (ACU) for allegedly demanding a $2 million dollar fee from FedEx to support their legislative agenda. FedEx was engaged in a legislative battle with UPS at the time and the ACU reportedly was willing to sell their support to the highest bidder between the two companies. A source close to Palin told POLITICO that this was an example of "pocketbook over policy" and that she was taking a stance against it.
Palin's absent creates a little bit of an awkward situation for CPAC. Palin is expected to win the straw poll at the convention. So the convention is likely to pick someone as their favorite candidate who will not even attend the event because of alleged profiteering.
Palin herself has been accused of "pocketbook over policy" for her willingness to charge a $100,000 speaking fee to attend the Tea Party convention. Palin said that she would give the money to conservative causes but has yet to specify what that means. Other conservatives like Representative Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) refused to attend the Tea Party convention because of allegations of profiteering. The Tea Party charged over $150 per ticket for members to attend.

CPAC should have offered Palin her $100,000 speaking fee...I wonder how much the school will have to pay her to show up at parent/teachers conferences when Trig starts school.
hmmmm whats on her hand???
hahaha
KC says: hmmmm whats on her hand??
Much much less than fits on the teleprompter!
Liberal retard! says:

it says, "this is your left hand"
I love Sarah, but after the CPAC speech, I am voating for Glenn Beck. Get the losers the hell out of our tent!
NOBAMA! the socialist bastard
Yes, Rob your voat is very importint! Please uze it wizly and voat for Glen Bekk.
How is earning a wage for a service provided anything like a backroom PAY TO PLAY scheme? Palin is represented by the Washington Speaker's Bureau. She has a speaking fee. Nothing shady about that.
Only hungry-for-their-next handout liberals would criticize someone for ACTUALLY earning a wage. That's the way free enterprise works, folks.
You clearly don't know your politics. Palin was not going to win the CPAC straw poll, nor did she end up winning it. When you ask many of the Conservative Republicans about whether they believe she was a viable candidate, not one has ever spoken for this in full truth, except to say they think she is lighting a fire. You should really do better research in your predictions. Palin is a cheerleader for her party and none the less. She received 7 percent of the straw poll figures from the CPAC conference, way below any of the others. While she may be standing up for the "righteousness" of the CPAC sponsor contributions, she isn't looking honest with her accepting of $100,000 to speak at at Tea Party Convention in Nashville, even if it was going back to the cause, as she claims. The point is, the Republican party is finding itself again through populism conservatism, but they wont see themselves behind her. - Recovering Liberal
RecoveringLiberal: I did. Read POLITICO, the Washington Post, and Fox News (who seems to be pretty well in with conservatives) BEFORE the CPAC poll. They all called Palin the favorite. Hindsight is 20/20. Perhaps instead of playing armchair quarterback you should join the game. Then you can criticize.

I saw all that too...not one of them considered Palin a "cheerleader"...they all considered her a "viable candidate" and questioned if she would run...I think that showing up at the Tea Party convention for $100,000 and then not showing up at CPAC at all sealed her fate with the republican party...now, she will be considered just a "cheerleader" instead of a leader.
Cpac wasnt going to pay Palin, thats why she didnt show. She says shes putting her 100 grand back into the cause, yeah, right back into SarahPac so she can funnel it back into her pocket. im a conservative and wouldnt vote for her if my life depended on it.
Leigh, you are an uneducated fool, won over by a hate mongering, sociopathic, greedy grifter.
Why is it a big deal for Sarah Palin to accept $100,000 for attending an event?
Consider her expenses: airfare for her entire family, lodging, transportation, AND security. That is for several days. Back home, don't be foolish and think that her property and the seaplane in their backyard is guarded by 24 security while they are gone.
So now, does that figure seem unreasonable? In spite of her income from the book and Fox News, why do you expect her to make a lot of these appearances out of her family's finances. The naive and less thoughtful might compare her to Romney who, with over $500 million net worth shows up for free.
On a more personal note, in my professional organization of marine surveyors (people who look at and report reality and pay a heavy price if they are incomplete and wrong), the contingent from Alaska is 100% in love with her and her performance.
Count me as a supporter, though always contingent on events and reality.
Mr. Kirmon, Ms. Palin has been using SarahPac for her traveling expenses, apparently Palin defenders dont read any negatives on their idol. Palin is nothing more than a puppet and Todd is behind her pulling the strings.
And also her tax euasion on her other 3 "homes. The people of Alaska do not love Palin. But then again you dont read. How about the "anti Palin" rally a year or so ago, where 2,000 people showed which somehow was basically ignored as is most of the underhanded things that Palin does.
And all her childrens travel expenses she charged to the state of Alaska, and making rape victims pay for their own rape kits, leaving the town of Wasilla 20,000,000 in debt, etc.
And come to find out, it was really Todd doing the majority of the governing up there through private e-mails. The Palins are frauds, and scam artists who are taking your money and running with it, stupid fool. Do some reading.
If Palin was going to be paid she would have surely been there, you betcha! She and Todd found a "Get rich quick scheme" and there hopping on it. And yes, she is using SaraPac for travel expenses. The morons who donate are probably scaping pennies and the Palins are living the good life and not even paying property taxes.a
