New Democrat maxim: When all else fails, there's the Race Card.
Last night during President Obama's failed attempt to unite the country on health care, Rep. Joe Wilson rudely shouted "Liar!" while the President was lying. Rep. Wilson should not have done this, just as the President should quit lying his way through the reform process.
Today, a well-known website has decided that Joe Wilson shouted down the President because he is black. The Democrat Party should thank Joe Wilson because they have nothing good to focus on in President's vacuous speech. They can also focus on Wilson instead of the disgusting story of ACORN abetting child prostitution.
Crooks & Liars, a blog I mistakenly thought was inspired by the Obama administration, has decided that Joe Wilson is racist because he disagrees with Obama and he is a Son of a Confederate Veteran. They go into great detail about a man named Kirk Lyons, who nobody knew until they dragged him out from under a rock. This Kirk Lyons doesn't sound very appealing, but I only know what I read on Crooks & Liars. The SPL doesn't like him, but I have already caught them with their pants down once already, so I have little faith in them as it is.
Crooks & Liars wants to have people believe that Joe Wilson wants to go around and kidnap non-white citizens any day now. This is based on his great grandfather's service and his defense of the Confederate flag as a historic state symbol. The Crooks & Liars narrative has the Marxism and 9/11 Trutherism of Van Jones as mainstream and acceptable, but the SCV, an organization President Harry S. Truman belonged to, that's crazy and un-American.

Responding without all the facts is considered ignorant, and that is just what you are sir. According to the FACTS, something that doesn't seem to be high on your list, illegal immigrants WILL NOT be covered by the new health plan. I guess some people, like yourself, would rather believe a lie that admit they were wrong.
Well set me straight then.
Under Obamacare, sick & wounded illegals who can
t pay will be turned away right?
Will they be able to die in the parking lot or will they have to leave the property altogether?
Put your name on your answer too, like I do. Don't be ashamed of your beliefs.
575 thousand dollars and counting raised to defeat Lyin' Joe Wilson. "Old Yeller" is wishing he had kept his mouth shut.
Get it right- The bill is not finished yet. They could slip it in there the same way they did the earmarks they promised would not be in the stimulus.
I read the Crooks and Liars post you linked to, but couldn't find where they had called Rep. Wilson a racist.
Would you please quote that excerpt from the Crooks and Liars post that brands the Congressman as racist?
Thank you.
Illegal immigrants will not be able to receive credits for healthcare. They may BUY them but NOT receive them from the govt.
Also, your analogy is stupid because people today aren't left to die in parking lots. That's why it makes sense to insure the 47 million American citizens currently without health insurance. They use the emergency room for healthcare, which costs 3 times the price of preventive medicine. We pay one way or the other.
But apparently, in your ideal world, illegal immigrants WOULD be left to die in a parking lot rather than receive care a few feet away. Do your own homework jackass!
"They may BUY them..."
Well "greg" who is afraid to post him last name, if you apply your reading skills above, I ask about those who CAN'T pay.
I am sure you will address this minor oversight on your part.
Also if you say "We pay one way or the other." Then, illegals will get health care right?
Dan Davis, if are seriously trying to say that Crooks & Liars was not inferring that Joe Wilson was racist and not trying to make a guilt by association case, there is no need to take you seriously, sir.
When a pregnant illegal alien woman comes to an emergency room in labor an ICE agent should ask her 'May I see your papers'. When the pregnant woman replies that she does not have any papers the ICE agent should throw her into the street.
Inference, huh?
Well, then can you link to the Crooks and Liars post that condoned the Marxism and 911 Trutherism of Van Jones?
Or is that your inference as well?
Is it ALL your inference, or do you have ANY links you can cite?
Dan Davis, I am accusing Crooks & Liars of all of it.
Cite that.
In other words, you can't actually prove any of it?
Is your column supposed to be something like journalism?
How is the SCV NOT anti-American? It's a group that honors soldiers who fought to literally destroy the Union. They wanted nothing to do with the UNITED STATES. They were, by defintion, traitors.
So what do you get, a penny from the Examiner for this post? Spend wiseley.
Oh, and Re: your comment
"Dan Davis, if are seriously trying to say that Crooks & Liars was not inferring that Joe Wilson was racist and not trying to make a guilt by association case, there is no need to take you seriously, sir."
Perhaps Mr. Davis was being disingenuously nitpicky; clearly, the choice to report the association of Wilson to the SCV is a choice to portray him as a racist.
But your lead ("New Democrat maxim: When all else fails, there's the Race Card") is even more disingenuous and more irresponsible since your writing an article and not simply posting on that article's site. To apply the reportage of a single, fairly unknown website to all Democrats is plain ridiculous.
Dwyer, it is not "disingenuous" at all. You just pointed out they played the race card.
"To apply the reportage of a single, fairly unknown website to all Democrats is plain ridiculous."
Top 25 = fairly unknown huh?

Playing the "race card" doesn't work in the long run. It may temporarily stifle the opposition from speaking out, that being said, the "race card" doesn't prevent Obama, Pelosi or Reed's poll number from falling. As a matter of fact, I think it hurts the Dem party; they played that card once too often.
It's disingenuous to apply to all Democrats the comments of one website. Seriously. It is.
It's disingenuous to say it is a fairly unknown website. Seriously. It is.
No, it's a mistake. Nice try. (Since I assume you have at least a slight grasp of English, I would characterize that response as disingenuous, but that's neither here nor there.)
And in the grand scheme of things, this site is not exactly huge.
Gee, where is the mainstream "liberal" press on this? Seems like something they'd salivate over. Don't see a word online from CNN and other usual targets of conservatives.
It was on MSNBC, the network you actually watch and the network conservatives point fingers at far more than CNN.
Either you are being "disingenuous" again or this is yet another "mistake."
If you want to keep trolling, let's see your full name up there pal. I don't need to indulge you any further as you snipe unknown from the crowd.
What I find mildly amusing is that IN in 2003, Wilson voted to provide federal funds for illegal immigrants healthcare. The vote came on the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003, which contained Sec. 1011 authorizing $250,000 annually between 2003 and 2008 for government reimbursements to hospitals who provide treatment for uninsured illegal immigrants.
All I can say is it figures.
That's really the point, Chuck. Wilson isn't against helping sick and injured illegals. Under our current system, illegals in need get taken care of. President Obama threw out this talking point and got caught.
Now Max Baucus, a Democrat, is introducing a bill to block illegals access to so-called insurance exchanges.
Obviously Wilson was right, and amazingly, Democrats are moving to block illegals at the hospital, or at least they want to give that appearance.
Got something to say?
