The middle 90's till now has shown the biggest population boom in US History. Decades earlier it was agreed that our country had matured sustaining ZPG, and that an increase would soon border on overpopulation. Since that time we have had uncontrolled urban sprawl, overcrowded schools, congestion and unprecedented loss of open space.
Statistics should come from a reliable source, and NumbersUSA has consistently delivered. Meticulous and unbiased, one can quickly get the facts. They are non-partisan, and have Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, reformers, and Independents doing research and advising.
An unsecured border and illegal aliens is their predominate reason for being.
THE TESTIMONY
KEY NUMBERS POINT TO POLICY CHANGES THAT COULD QUICKLY SAVE LARGE NUMBERS OF JOBS FOR UNEMPLOYED AMERICANS
Excerpt of Written Testimony by Roy Beck, Founder & CEO of NumbersUSA
Nov. 19, 2009, 2237 Rayburn House Office Building
Congressman Smith (Lamar Smith, R-Texas) and other distinguished Members,
. . . . Your hearing today is a flicker of hope that somebody up here cares enough to pay attention to a few key numbers that tend to say all that needs to be said about the necessity of changing immigration policy immediately. I believe that my written testimony outlines convincingly that perhaps hundreds of thousands of additional Americans could be in jobs a year from now if Congress immediately passes a few simple changes in immigration law.
A few key numbers make the case.
First Number -- at least 7 million
The Pew Hispanic Center estimated last spring that 8 million illegal foreign workers held U.S. jobs at that time.
Pew said only 4% of them were in agriculture.
Since that report, many illegal aliens’ jobs have been eliminated. But it is likely that at least 7 million construction, service, manufacturing and transportation jobs are still currently held by illegal foreign workers.
Those are 7 million jobs being sought by more than 7 million less-educated Americans who are currently unemployed and actively seeking a job.
Members of Congress and this Administration need to look at those numbers and come to understand that immigration enforcement is about creating jobs for unemployed Americans. In general, when a government action results in an illegal foreign worker leaving a job, an unemployed American gets to go back to work.
Congressman Smith, the 920,000 members of NumbersUSA in every congressional district of our country wholeheartedly support your efforts to promote far more immigration enforcement as one of the most effective JOBS programs the government can have.
Second Number -- 75,000
It appears that American workers’ own federal government in October issued permanent work permits to about 75,000 working-age immigrants[2] -- 75,000 new LEGAL immigrant workers in just one month.
Third Number -- 190,000
In October, 190,000 U.S. jobs were eliminated.[3] Our government added 75,000 more permanent workers to compete with 16 million unemployed Americans[4] for 190,000 FEWER U.S. jobs.
Since Jan. 1 of this year, it appears that our government already has issued nearly three-quarters of a million new permanent work permits to immigrants.[
THESE NUMBERS ARE HIGHLY CREDIBLE
Congress has created an immigration system on auto-pilot so that the unemployment rate of Americans has virtually no effect on the numerical levels.
Consider these numbers from the Department of Homeland Security:
• Federal records show that two years ago – before the recession began – the federal government issued around 830,000 Green Cards (permanent work permits) to working-age immigrants.[6] 830,000.
• Last year during the first year of the recession, the government gave away around 875,000 permanent work permits to immigrants. That was an average of around 75,000 per month.[7]

"Unbiased" and "non-partisan?"
I guess you didn't know that Roy Beck, Founder & CEO of NumbersUSA, was in some way associated with a "white supremacist" group called "Council of Conservative Citizens."
EC, you are hilarious. NumbersUSA from its beginning has decried any form of racism within immigration policy or within advocacy for changes in that policy. Even the pro-amnesty Southern Poverty Law Center which tries to do guilt by association with every immigration-reduction group found after an extensive investigation that neither I nor NumbersUSA has ever written or done anything that could be construed as racist. It also noted my lifelong personal activities in combatting racism.
I think the tidbit you have picked up is that during two years of speaking to scores of groups, radio and TV shows on my book tour for W.W. Norton & Co. in the mid-1990s, I spoke at a meeting of the CofCC about my book. As I have explained to those who asked, I didn't actually know anything about the CofCC until I arrived at the meeting and could see it had a racist agenda. The fact that I spoke in no way suggests agreement with the group and does not suggest "association."
We have all belonged to organizations that do not reflect our total values. A good example from my end is my early association with ZPG. I soon found that it did not reflect my ideals, and separated myself. My liberal teacher force-fed me, for a grade, but I was too smart and strong to swallow it, even at 22. I now belong to about 17 organizations including the NRA and the NAACP, and at times both have embarrassed me, and yet they do good work too.
Frankly I am sick to death of the double standard in this country. It isn't when we have a white or Asian Ms. American that will set us free, but when having a Black MS. America is seen for what that represents. No culture should have to apologize to another for who they are, so long as everyone respects one another for their differences.
I could find nothing wrong with these statistics, and they match with FBI publications. The same FBI publications who did an extrapolation method to determine it was 18 times more likely for a black m
man to harm a white man for racial hate. When I reported this I was called a racist. I was threatened too. I was even told that the FBI was racist.
Truth is the only way to break barriers, color or creed, and the more taboo a country has the less freedom. Try to say "I don't agree with Israel", or ask, "why do trial lawyers vote Democrat?"
Roy Beck is a true patriot, unafraid to investigate and report truth. I have great respect for him, but like any other man, is just that. And the past does not equal the future.
We need ZPG in this country, and that includes securing our borders. Zero Population Growth seems a good cause.
I think the mandatory sterilization of women at age 14 was one factor I disagreed with. It was the same folks putting nails in old growth trees so they could not be cut down without the possibility of killing the Californian lumberman with a broken saw, and the same ones who spit on us returning from Vietnam. They want to do what is right without a true regard of consequence or reasoning.
But, isn't the Real Story here that, from a politician's point of view, 'citizens' are replaceable, statistics on a page, and they really don't care what happens to any one person in this country, as long as that GDP target is being met, and all that happy stuff?
I think the moral of the story is, 'save what you can, because you will probably end up needing it', and don't expect any favors from globally-minded bureaucrats.
EC, "Unbiased" and "non-partisan" is exactly what I have found in my dealings with Roy Beck and NumbersUSA. When those that disagree with our members can not refute the position or numbers with facts, they always turn to name calling and site untrue guilt by associations. NumbersUSA is not bias and says no to immigrant bashing.I wish our governmemt had a fraction of the integrity this organization has.Your untrue assertions and claims do not hold water or prove otherwise..
A February 2009 report by Southern Poverty Law Center examined John Tanton's written correspondence highlighted alleged connections between Tanton's immigration-reduction efforts and white supremacist, neo-Nazi and pro-eugenics leaders. NumbersUSA is one of John Tantons so called white supremacy agenda programs.
The introduction to the report reads:
FAIR, CIS and NumbersUSA are all part of a network of restrictionist organizations conceived and created by John Tanton, the puppeteer of the nativist movement and a man with deep racist roots. As the first article in this report shows, Tanton has for decades been at the heart of the white nationalist scene. He has met with leading white supremacists, promoted anti-Semitic ideas, and associated closely with the leaders of a eugenicist foundation once described by a leading newspaper as a neo-Nazi organization. He has made a series of racist statements about Latinos and worried that they were outbreeding whites. At one point, he wrote candidly that to maintain American culture,a European-American majority is required.
A 2002 Southern Poverty Law Center report listed 13 immigration-restriction groups, which they claim were founded and/or funded by Tanton.
American Immigration Control Foundation - AICF, 1983, funded
American Patrol/Voice of Citizens Together - 1992, funded
California Coalition for Immigration Reform - CCIR, 1994, funded
Californians for Population Stabilization - 1996, funded (founded separately in 1986)
Center for Immigration Studies - CIS, 1985, founded and funded
Federation for American Immigration Reform - FAIR, 1979, founded and funded
NumbersUSA - 1996, founded and funded
Population-Environment Balance - 1973, joined board in 1980
ProEnglish - 1994, founded and funded
ProjectUSA - 1999, funded
