In a Nationalistic State, no free enterprise can long endure. In a Socialistic state the human motivator of pride is overpowered. Liberty suffocates. History will demonstrate the weakening effects of unbridled government in the private sector, and the current affairs of Brazil is a case in point.

There are four oil fields in the world which produce over one million barrels per day. Ghawar, in Saudi, produces 4.5 million barrels per day, Cantarell, in Mexico, produces 1.85 million barrels per day, Burgan, in Kuwait, produces 1.1 million barrels per day, and Da Qing, in China, produces 1 million barrels per day. It is too early to see what Brazil will produce, but there is a chance it could rival Saudi, certainly Kuwait. And then, it should be noted that all of these fields are declining. And though Saudi is now producing a 50/50 O/W ratio, they still produce a staggering amount.

A Nationalized Country like Brazil does not want this potential mega- profit to slip between their fingers, and wants Petrobras, their state controlled oil company, to be in control of all exploration and production. Unfortunate for them, that would take more money and expertise than they possess. Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva sent legislation to their congress as early as August 2009 to make that law, but decisions are still inconclusive, and any rules would most likely not be implemented until the middle of 2010. American geologists associated with Anadarko Petroleum Corp. and Devon Energy have said the pre-salt zone might extend well beyond Brazil's Atlantic coast. This particular field, called Tupi, is said to be the largest find since the Kashagan Field in Kazakhstan that held 13 billion barrels.

“The sub-salt crude is higher quality, about 30-degree API,” said Caio Carvalhal, research associate at Cambridge Energy Research Associates in Brazil. “Brazil has very heavy oil on average, about 16-degree to 17-degree.” as quoted by the AAPG Explorer. What this means is that this light crude will take less refining, and be more lucrative.

Campos, Santos and Espirito Santo are the areas previously explored, but it seems there is a lot more yet to be found.

Brazil is very fortunate indeed, or so it seems. Though they have a Fascist president, an overt lack of civil liberty, Nationalization of the private sector, and unbridled Socialism, one primary objective for decades is to be self sufficient and self contained by bio-fuel. Obama seems to aspire to all but the latter. Though he promised to develop alternative energy, the borrowed money from China to Brazil will make us now dependent on both, subject to their whim.

Drill now is the Brazilian standard, though 80 percent of their cars run on ethanol, they will overtake our oilfield infrastructure in four to five years, most likely using our money, while we flounder in energy dependence from a left wing government bent on its destruction.

As our oil-based infrastructure disintegrates, a new "green machine" will replace it, and when it is all said and done, the lies it took to get us there will have been for our own good. "Baaa!" said the sheep.

What will Americans do when they find out our two recent Peace Prize recipients are liars, that the mass hysteria for global warming was bogus to promote a new money-making avenue? That by our own lack of unity, and good judgment, our nation is gone. "Baaa!" said the sheep, "The Saints are now 10-0!"

Not to worry, there will be a lot of money to be made rebuilding our country from the ashes. Unfortunately, big business will make the lion's share, and what is left of the middle class will pull the Socialistic wagon. It will take some a long time to realize that the efforts they put forth will be for the collective whole, because that deep-seated American spirit will linger long after the chains and hooks have pulled them down.
