Palin worth $100,000 per hour; over 1,000 invitations so far

Former Gov. Sarah Palin.  AP Photo: Al Grillo.

Many pundits, Alaskans, and simple political observers have pondered why Former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin resigned from office. One answer now seems apparent—money. Since her resignation, Palin has been offered over 1,000 invitations to make paid speeches, appear, and campaign on behalf of politicians and political groups.

She has received offers from numerous speakers’ bureaus (scouts for speechmakers) and has reportedly signed with at least one of them, the Washington Speakers Bureau. Washington Speakers Bureau’s clientele currently consist of Former President George W. Bush and Laura Bush, Bob Woodward, Katie Couric, Colin Powell, Rudy Giulianni, Alan Greenspan, and many others. For a full list of speakers click here.

Nearly all of the over 1,000 invitations include request for speeches. On top of the speeches, over 120 political candidates from all levels of federal and state government have requested Palin to appear on their behalf at various political events. She will also make cameos for charities, Christian organizations, and other related social causes and groups.

So when Palin beckoned to Alaskans that she would better serve them not as their governor but as a private citizen, what she really meant was, she will raise a tremendous amount of money so that she could have a better chance of running for President in 2012.  Or, she could have resigned simply to make money without having any plans to run for higher office.  Of the 1,000 speech invitations, almost all will be bring the former governor $100,000 each.

Palin has not yet confirmed where she will be speaking or campaigning, but responses to the invitations are expected to begin this week. However, one cannot expect Palin to hurry in confirming such invitations as she has her book to finish (reported to be 85% complete), and a giant file of other offers ranging from cable to business ventures that she is still considering. With all the possibilities, it is no wonder Palin left a $100,000 government job as she can now make that in one hour of work—a sum to which soccer moms and plumbers can certainly relate.

Palin outsmarted the left-wing idiots. They kept filing bogus lawsuits against her...leaving her with over a half a million dollars in legal fees (classic Saul Alinsky tactic.) She called their bluff, pure and simple. She would have stayed tucked away, nice and quiet up in AK if they'd just left alone to govern...but now the woman is free to bring down Obama's little house of cards.

    Good for Sarah Palin!
Last time I checked, this is America and as a private citizen, she should be able to make money from speaking engagements, books, TV appearances-
    It's called free market capitalism.
    Get over it.
Your article was insipid and your poll skewed.
You should have included the answer: Because she can!
After all -it's the resident's favorite answer.

Two new categories have been added to poll: "because she can" and "to better serve America." You can vote for more than one answer at a time.

She has time to go to Hong Kong and speak to strangers on a subject she knows nothing about.

But she doesn't have time to speak to her Conservative base right there in Alaska as shown last week when she was "too busy" to address a Pro Life, Church sponsored event.

Looks like that Church couldn't cough up enough cash to "buy" her time. She is showing her true colors.

i can't believe anyone would pay to hear her speak...if she doesn't watch out she is going to become one of those "elitists" she warned us about...
i don't really care why she resigned from office...just glad that she did...
she's such a hypocrite...she spent so much time criticizing Obama about his book deals and now she has some in the works...
BTW...I think Palin resigned because some of the lawsuits weren't so bogus after all...I'm sure this broad isn't as squeeky-clean as she'd like us to believe

Sarah deserves every penny she gets. Last time I checked this was a country based on free market principles. Until the 0 gets his way, that is. Then it will be like Venezuela with hours and hours of The 0ne droning on and on and on and on...

My bet is right now there are hundreds, maybe even thousands of sufferers of Palin Derangement Syndrome taking crayon in hand, scribbling some unhinged response on paper drenched with drool and flecked with foam.

Axelrod shouldn't have called off his dogs after the election. If he had, Sarah Palin would be pretty isolated up there in Alaska as governor. Because of him, she's free to travel, and to speak whereever and whenever she wants. Just her using Facebook has already caused 0bama headaches.

I hope Sarah makes a small fortune, and that after she pays her legal bills for all the bogus complaints filed against by the Obamabots, that she invests the rest in reclaiming Washington from the elitist power grabbers on both the left and the right. There are no good guys in Washington. They should have left her alone... now she's a pitbull with lipstick OFF HER LEASH!

Money? That off course would be a liberal assumption. A media stab at Palin in their quest for dirt. The media will be barred from all functions nonetheless which will end up frustrating the state run media even more.

In the last year Sarah Palin has been to hell and back. Once Sarah knew the liberals game plan the leaving office was set into motion. If you had listen to any of her speeches the hints were there. She stayed on for one reason the pipeline and once she finished the 40 billion pipeline deal it was time to move on and fight the scumbag liberals on her terms. I hope she makes millions and millions because with money comes powerful allies.

I pity the fools that thought is was OK to attack her children.

So get your popcorn and get ready for the fight we are about to enbark on. I for one won't miss it for the world. PALIN POWER

poor little libby trolls complain that Sarah is trying to pay off her debt that was caused by liberals on a witch hunt, but you NEVER hear a word about the real crooks in govt, say like Rangel, who, oops, just forgot about 1.5 million dollars in income, or how about his IRS guy Geithner, who didn't understand Turbotax rules and therefore didn't pay his fair share of taxes...or Murtha or all the rest of the cheats, crooks and liars currently "representing" us in Congress...oh yea, that's just priceless..the hypocrisy and hubris is epic!

Why do most people leave one job for another? To get a raise.
Regardless, Sarah is in charge of what she wants to do with her life. She saved alot of Alaskan taxpayer's money by resigning because of the continual harrassment and filing of frivolous ethics complaints by Dem operatives working in concert to try and take down this wonderful Governor. I wouldn't doubt it if she donates alot of that money to charities for special needs kids and for military families.

When Sarah Palin announced on July 3rd, that she was stepping down as governor, the left wing, media elites, and country club Republicans, smelled blood in the water. She's finally done it, they thought. There's no way she can recover. Maureen Dowd began a string of columns about her incompetence and folly. Even Reagan's ex speech writer Peggy Noonan declared Sarah as stupid, in one column. There was elation on every liberal network, and with some Republican pundits. It was worth noting that if this was the end of her, that every Sunday show and countless hours on cable were devoted to reinforcing that point. Instead of reporting the news of her resignation, there was an almost Faustian, celebratory dance on her grave, which may have been premature. They thought they could now label her a quitter, and then Sarah suddenly showed up on Facebook and twitter.

Rather then going to the mainstream media, which Sarah knew from her vice presidential run would edit and transform every interview and statement, she decided to go directly to the masses through the social networking, digital delivery system. And now this ex governor, that the mass media coroner had declared pulse less on July 3rd, is suddenly driving the debate. After her Facebook posting on August 7th, where she had the gall to coin the phrase "death panels," in a posting critical of Hr 3200's provision about end of life counseling, the left went apoplectic. Funny that they would even respond to a perceived corpse, but even President Obama came out to contradict her assertions. So, Sarah doubled down on august 12, with another Facebook posting, with lots of exhaustive footnotes to support her supposition. So much for Sarah being stupid, Peggy dear. Soon after, the Dems in the Senate decided to expunge that end of life counseling provision from the bill.

I can't stand Obama but alot of folks want to crown Palin as the only potential republican candidate for president in 2012. Granted, she has name recognition but remember she only had that because McCain through her on the ticket. Has everyone forgotten she stepped down from being governor? Yes, she had reasons, but I believe if she stuck it out as governor she would have had tremendous momentum, gained even more executive experience to counter Obama's lack of experience in everything. Okay, she is bringing the dough in and this money will be the cushion for a run if she runs in 2012. The key point folks is experience, she had that as a governor, but she resigned. Doing the speaking circuit sure does get her money but it does not give her the national and internal experience and clout that is needed. Yes, she gets seen and people will learn about the topics and issues she supports. Now, she is lacking hands on leadership training. Just my two cents.....
