Sexually explicit children's book hits the shelves at Texas libraries

The days of hiding girlie magazines under the mattress are over, at least in the Lone Star State..

The hot spot to get the lowdown and dirty on actually getting lowdown and dirty is now available in 20-30 branches of the Texas public library system.

"My Mom's Having a Baby!" is causing quite the ruckus in the north Texas town of Carrollton.

The book reads, "The man puts his penis between the woman's legs and inside her vagina. After a while, a white liquid shoots out of the man's penis and into the woman's vagina. The liquid is full of millions of sperm."

The book contains illustrations of anatomically correct male and female sex organs.

There is also an illustration of a presumable naked man and woman under the sheets, with the man lying atop the woman.

Amazon.com details the book to be for children aged 4-8.

It's being reported by MyFoxFW.com that the following was released in an e-mail statement by the authoress, Dori Hillestad Butler; (in part)

"I’ll be the first to tell you that this is not a book for everyone. I didn’t write it for everyone. I also didn’t write it for children to read by themselves. I wrote it for parents to read with their children."

There are no checks in place within the Texas Library System for parents-only to check out this particular book.

It is currently filed in the Children's Section.

Apparently you found that biologically straightforward description of sex more exciting than I did. I'd still call it a book and not a "boook."

  • You caught a typo. Congrats.

And why is it a bad thing for children to be educated? Of course parent's should read books WITH their children, and review what their children are taking from the library, so what is the problem?

"Oh no, I can't let my children roam free in the library while I go update my facebook status because what if they LEARN something that they didn't know before...and really, what if they have questions for me?!"
