Did everyone hear the collective nation-wide snickering last night right around sunset? Turns out we're bombing Libya for "humanitarian" purposes.
Yeah, those B-2 Bombers must be dropping tactical loads of shawarmas, with Marine Corps Harriers supporting the missions with deee-lish side orders of baba ghanoush and falafel.
OK, all joking aside. If this really was a military intervention of a humanitarian nature, we would have already killed Muammar Qadaffi. Period.
You don't cure someone with esophageal cancer by giving them hot tea with lemon and honey. I don't have an MD or anything as grand as that, but I'm pretty sure the proper course of action is to attack the cancer itself... right?
So that begs the question, why are we really there?
According to the Global Trade Atlas, roughly 80% of Libyan oil does toooooo....... you guessed it: Europe.
Oh, and our European pals just might not be all that keen on a pro-Iranian government being installed in Tripoli.
If that were to happen, not only are there literally MILLIONS of anti-Western Muslims already living in Europe, that continent will now be under an Iranian nuclear umbrella.
Hmmm, external and internal threats. Not exactly optimum circumstances, huh?
But then again, the Europeans brought this upon themselves.
