Michelle Obama has quite the habit of telling us how and what to eat.
How sad she doesn't follow her own advice (directives?).
At Sunday's Governors Meeting at the White House, the First Lady served up a meal that could have easily broken the 2,500 calorie mark.
The menu consisted of;
- Salad of roasted pears with homemade ricotta, walnut crisps, with White House Kitchen Garden greens
- Bread and butter
- Local black angus beef with blue crab
- Plantain chips
- Black beans and rice
- At least two glasses of wine
- Coconut Sorbet in a chocolate shell
- Poached tropical fruits made with White House Honey
Ahhh... and this is the same Michelle Obama that's had a team of advisers engage in talks with the National Restaurant Association in an effort to get eateries to serve smaller portions.
When did it she decide how much food we get when we're the one's paying for it?
Remember, this is also the same Michelle Obama who wants our kids limited to a maximum of 3 ounces of fish nuggets, 2 slices of bread, 3/4 of a cup of applesauce and 8 fluid ounces of milk.
Per day.
Yet the gut-busting menu at the White House Super Bowl Bash was the following;
- Bratwurst
- Cheeseburgers
- Deep-dish pizza
- Buffalo wings
- German potato salad
- Twice-baked potatoes
- Assorted chips and dips
- Yuengling Lager and Light
- Hinterland Pale Ale and Amber Ale
- White House Honey Ale
Anyone who came back for seconds on just one or two items could have easily cracked the 4,000 calorie mark.
By the way, I didn't notice any broccoli or spinach, did you?
