Why Are America's Event Planners All Out To Get Sarah Palin?

Where in the world is Sarah Barracuda Palin? Alaska's sultry superstar has once again mysteriously disappeared right before she was scheduled to speak at one of her very important fundraisers, this one so slutty teenagers who get knocked up have no choice but to have the baby unless they want to get the ol' parental approval for an abortion.

Now normally Sarah's habit of shirking her duties is limited to elected terms in office, but ever since becoming an unemployed publicity hound and Facebook junkie, Palin's erratic behavior has instead metamorphosed into canceling paid speaking engagements at the very last minute while pretending she was never invited in the first place.

But since this is the "fourth time in recent months that an anticipated Palin speech has fallen through after Palin and her camp disputed they had ever confirmed it," loyal Palin spokesperson Meg Stapleton is used to concocting perfectly good explanations for these embarrassing incidents known as the Sarah Palin experience.

This time it's an event by the Alaska Family Council promoting an Alaska ballot measure aimed at making it illegal for teens to get an abortion without telling their parents. Organizers of the event have been advertising that Palin would give a speech and become the first official signer of the ballot petition tonight at ChangePoint, the Anchorage megachurch.

Palin spokeswoman Meg Stapleton said Wednesday, that "this is the first we have ever heard of a speech." She said Palin is out of state and won't be there, but naturally declined to provide details on where Palin is and what she is doing.

Alaska Family Council President Jim Minnery said it was news to him that Stapleton was saying Palin had no knowledge of the speech, since organizers have been talking to Palin "contacts" for weeks about it.

"All we can do is take people at their word that we've worked with in the past," Minnery said. "We've been working for several weeks on the event, promoting it very heavily. It would be a grave disappointment if she doesn't show up but the show will still go on."

Well, I'll be damned! This is indeed odd--even by crazy Palin's standards. Either literally hundreds of event organizers across the USA have joined forces in a massive conspiracy to fool the unsuspecting public into believing the Ice Queen herself would be gracing their shindigs with her glorious presence, even though it was just a figment of their imaginations. Or she was so busy protecting Trig from Obama's death panels, defending golden-haired messenger of truth Glenn Beck from the liberal media's unfounded, vicious character assassination, and posting on her favoritest Facebook, that everything else completely slipped her mind!

I mean what other explanation could there possibly be? She's on plug-patrol for Grandma?

Is the above article a lame attempt a humor? Aha ha ha zzzzzz. Sarah Palin is a private citizen who doesn't have to run here and there, polishing apples or raising funds. But even when she does nothing and just stays home, somehow that is transmogrified into scandalous news. Anyway, thanks for the cute photo of Sarah.

Well...this was a powerful and mature argument. Let's see... since she's a very high profile, high demand speaker and presence at events like these, is it really all that shocking that organizers are chomping at the bit to arrange for Palin to make an appearance? It's not uncommon, at all, for organizers to prematurely take the word of "contacts" and count their chickens before they hatch. None of these mishaps have had direct contact or confirmation from Palin herself. That should be the most telling bit. Palin's team did say they had received the invite, but declined, and were unaware of any kind of speech. None of this comes even close to indicating that anyone including Palin has implied a "conspiracy" effort to fool anyone. A misunderstanding is a misunderstanding, and its not uncommon for this to happen at all under such circumstances.

And for the record, making an occasional Facebook post while not making a single public appearance to speak of falls far from "publicity hound"

Is this author for real? I mean really! This is just a another spin on the truth in a failed attempt to make Palin look bad and discredit her. Here's the spin...she writes how Palin "once again mysteriously disappeared right before she was scheduled to speak." Well to start with, SHE WASN'T SCHEDULED, and SHE DIDN'T "mysteriously disappear." Do you see the spin? But, the author doesn't stop at Palin, to add insult to others she writes, "so slutty teenagers who get knocked up" Who is this hateful person and what does she stand for other than a hate campaign? I have to assume that this is just one of the many attempts by weak, uninformed journalists and questionable publications, to boost readership by tossing in Palin's name on some lame, hateful story.

Like this one, dana h says "SHE WASN'T SCHEDULED, and SHE DIDN'T 'mysteriously disappear.'"

what a moron, how do you know that?

then theres PAO, "It's not uncommon, at all, for organizers to prematurely take the word of "contacts" and count their chickens before they hatch. None of these mishaps have had direct contact or confirmation from Palin herself. "

yeah, Palin would certainly admit it if they made a mistake. hehe

this guy actually took the time and effort to find out about the author so that he could muckrake on his own, sheerblather says "Hope that Emory degree in Journalism and Political Science didn't cost you too much money"

You see, most of us see through the blind hatred...Blind hatred doesn't need facts because it just serves the haters' need to justify one's own hatred. I never see any facts brought up with the libel spewed against Mrs. Palin....Yes she resigned but you never back up your "reasons" with any facts. What the heck does it matter to you just where Sarah Palin is? What business is it of yours? Were you out there reporting on all the ethics charges being dismissed? Were you writing about her accomplishments?
-The Palin administration created a petroleum integrity office to oversee safe development. With her leadership, Alaskan’s best interests were protected In May 2007 Superior Court Judge Sharon Gleason ruled that the state had “persuasively demonstrated that it is in the public interest” for the Department of Natural Resources to terminate the leases held by ExxonMobil, BP, Chevron and ConocoPhillips. The companies were fined $20 million for their lease violations. Now, for the first time in decades, drilling for oil and gas has begun.

-Under Governor Palin’s leadership, the administration generated unprecedented support for education initiatives, and finally filled long-vacant public safety positions.
-Criticized for refusing the so-called “stimulus money,” Governor Palin, again showing her innate courage and independence, recognized that there
were strings attached to those federal dollars and chose to protect the best interests of Alaskans instead of accepting a federal hand-out. According to the Governor, “I have taken the slings and arrows with that unpopular move to veto because I know being right is better than being popular.” She “resisted those dollars because of the obscene national debt we’re forcing our children to pa

"Writer?"Julie. Sarah Palin is in such great demand that she could have engagements for speaking for two years if she took every one of them. Probably more than that. The most likely explanation if your small brain can comprehend it, is that the promoters want her to come so badly that they are posting her without her permission. That has clearly happened at the Reagan speech and the Republican fundraisers. People just want Sarah Palin at their projects. I don't blame them, but I do blame them for posting her without permission.

Sarah Palin is a great person who boldly takes her appearances at events in new and different directions, leading to exciting scavenger hunt-like games. She is, like a point guard, always being used as a decoy, to distract from the good players. Also, too, our troops. She is perhaps the greatest living Alaskan republican woman named Sarah, and was named such by the secret Alaskan papers of mystery that the mean Katie Couric tried to get her to divulge. How dare people disrespect the woman who has earned the exalted title of "Hockey Mom", and who will, God willing, take her fight for the Presidency in the same direction she took her Governorship, like a fish swimming upstream to... abstain from spawning!

Although Sarah is not holding a political office, they continue to try and attack, libel, and slander her, not to mention to continuous defamation of character taking place (but that's ok, because there will be more evidence for the next 'October surprise').

I like Mrs. Palin, I didn't used to, but my friend showed me good research about her background, & taught me how bad the Democratic party is for my race, as it keeps us blacks down & depending upon the government for everything. I have a 2 year old Down syndrome child & when I saw how the Democrats were treating Trig Palin, that was the last straw for me. I voted for Obama & regret it so much. I was happy to see a Black man as President, but now I realize I should have learned more about him before I voted. I didn't pay much attention to the news & when I did, I only watched the mainstream stuff & now I realize I was lead to believe things that weren't true. I feel Obama lied during his campaign. This isn't the change I wanted at all. I will forever regret my choice of voting for Obama. I thought he would unite whites & blacks, but he only pushed us further apart. I like everyone, race should never be an issue in politics, but it was part of the reason why I voted for him. I was wrong.

    Re:PAO

Here’s how I see most blogs work. You read the article and comment or not. It’s that simple. Here’s my comment:

“Watching Palin I found her to be inconsistent, undependable, rambling, and unprepared for anything except preaching to the choir. The simple fact that she will not hold regular press conferences where journalists ask questions leads me to believe that she is unfit for political office in a democracy with a free press.”

As a fellow commentator I do not need to show you my homework, you need to do your own. Besides, if someone has been watching Palin from the start and has come to the conclusion that she is smart, full of ideas, and will see the job to the end instead of quitting when she feels like it, I suspect no amount of ‘evidence’ would satisfy them. My observations have led me to a completely different conclusion.

I am for reasoned discussions which is why I found Palin such a disappointment.

  • PAO 2 years ago

Good David, although your argument is only marginally better than others I have seen on this partiular thread. Parroting words like "rambling" and "inconsistent" at Sarah Palin doesn't make them so without justifying those views. Here it's really only feasible to address specific issues at once, like the misconfirmation of her presence at this event.

And sure, comment, that is the way it works. But don't hold it against me for calling it like I see it in terms of who substantiates their case and who pats eachother on the back for doing the best job of putting Palin down via obscure out of context soundbites and willful lack of comprehension of her words and perspective. Yes, my views of Palin have on the contrary been affirmed through even the owrst soundbites of the Couric interview, because I understand where she was coming from in spite of difficulty with some answers she gave. I have yet to see any critic legitimately criticize Palin's performance anywhere else.
