Despite President Obama's promise to the contrary during last night's health care speech to Congress, Obamacare's insurance exchange will, in fact, insure illegal immigrants.
Said Obama last night: "There are also those who claim that our reform efforts would insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false. The reforms -- the reforms I'm proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally." Apparently, the president has never heard of a little something called "unintended consequences." Just because you don't specifically provide for something's occurrence, doesn't mean that it won't occur. (In related news, "South Carolina Representative Joe Wilson says he can't be blamed for last night's outburst, because he didn't actually intend for anybody to hear him").
As Mark Tapscott of the Washington Examiner pointed out at the end of last month, the Congressional Research Service (CRS) disagrees, and had this to say about H.R. 3200, the reform bill approved just before the August recess by the House Energy and Commerce Committee:
"Under H.R. 3200, a 'Health Insurance Exchange' would begin operation in 2013 and would offer private plans alongside a public option…H.R. 3200 does not contain any restrictions on noncitizens—whether legally or illegally present, or in the United States temporarily or permanently—participating in the Exchange."
Tapscott explained further: "CRS also notes that the bill has no provision for requiring those seeking coverage or services to provided proof of citizenship. So, absent some major amendments to the legislation and a credible, concrete enforcement effort in action, looks like the myth on this issue is the one being spread by Obama, Reid, Pelosi, et. al."
Unless Obama's version of Obamacare is markedly different from the reform bills submitted thus far, it looks like Joe Wilson, though out of line (as discussed here), was right: Obama did, in fact, lie last night. Or, at the very least, misrepresented to Americans the potential consequences of his reform proposal.

Your willingness to lie to support the GOP is insulting. Most of the Republicans interviewed today admitted that the Presidents plan will NOT pay or allow illegal immigrants to get health care.
You pull up old parts of the bill thinking we are all stupid.
You're a hack and no better then Glenn Beck.
Article 246 -- right there in big bold letters. The "gentleman" from South Carolina LIED. Those pesky facts are a bee-yatch.
There is a serious problem with Obama's speech. Personally, I caught Obama lying several times. Those lies of Obama will come to light, will come to the forefront of discussions. Obama lying not only to America but also lying to our entire world is extremely offensive and certainly deserving of having a person shout out "you lie" in anger.
I would have enjoyed being there in the chamber to throw rotten tomatoes and heads of cabbage at Obama; I do not tolerate liars.
Consensus estimates are about 6 million illegal aliens will be insured by Obama's health plan at a cost of roughly 30 billion dollars a year for American taxpayers. This is offensive. This angers me.
Obama is a habitual liar. He must be called out on his lying even if during a joint session of Congress. Obama lying to America is extremely dangerous.
What other lies is Obama telling us?

Are conservatives actually as dumb as they look?
Obviously Obama believed what he said when he stated "...the reforms I'm proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally". Go back to his press conference in in Guadalajara, Mexico - Aug 10, 2009 - where he stated that he will seek comprehensive immigration reform legislation that will put illegal aliens on a pathway to citizenship. His words:
And we can create a system in which you have strong border security, we have an orderly process for people to come in, but we're also giving an opportunity for those who are already in the United States to be able to achieve a pathway to citizenship so that they don't have to live in the shadows, and their children and their grandchildren can have a full participation in the United States. So I'm confident we can get it done.
2+2=What??? I'm thinking amnesty to all illegals with benefits!
They're dumber Jeeves. They couldn't withstand an argument on the facts, thats why they resort to incivility. Lets face it, there hasn't been a health care debate, because the repugs have nothing to debate on. They couldn't care less about people other than their insurance lobbyists.
