The July 20th Georgia primaries left a lot races unfinished; the runoff elections are scheduled for August 10. Still in the running are as follows (name of the candidate and the percentage of the vote he/she received in the primary) :

Statewide races:

Governor-Republican: Karen Handel 33%, Nathan Deal 23%

Secretary of State – Democratic: Gail Buckner 36%, Georganna Sinkfield 23%

Attorney General – Republican: Sam Olens 40%, Preston Smith 31%

Commissioner of Insurance – Republican: Ralph Hudgens 20%, Maria Sheffield 20% (came in second, received about 6,273 less votes than Hudgens)

Commissioner of Labor – Democratic: Darryl Hicks 51%, Terry Coleman 49% (still unknown, difference of about 1,749 votes with 99% precincts reporting)

Public Service Commissioner District 2 – Republican: Tim Echols 35%, John Douglas 28%

District Attorney, Paulding Circuit – Republican: Dick Donovan 41%, Drew Lane 36%

US House races:

US House District 9 – Republican: Tom Graves 49%, Lee Hawkins 27%

US House District 7 – Republican: Rob Woodall 36%, Jody Hice 27%

US House District 12- Republican: Raymond McKinney 43%, Carl Smith 28%
