Herman Cain will give a response on behalf of the Tea Party Express to President Obama's State of the Union address on Tuesday, January 24.
Last year, Michele Bachmann delivered the first "Tea Party" response to the State of the Union, after Rep. Paul Ryan delivered the official GOP response. This year, former Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels will deliver the official GOP response.
Herman Cain made the disclosure this morning that he would be providing the response. He was here in Charleston to promote his Solutions Revolution and ensuing tour, which is heading to Florida for their primary, the next one up after South Carolina.
South Carolina voters are going to the polls today, as Newt Gingrich appears poised to pull off the comeback victory. His margin of victory may be as high as four to six percent over Mitt Romney.
The speech will stream on the group’s site, www.teapartyexpress.org.
"We are excited to have Herman Cain deliver the 2nd Tea Party State of the Union response next week," Tea Party Express chief strategist Sal Russo said in a statement.
