It happens to the best, it happens to the rest...

I mustered the discipline to play tight but aggressive and maintain my focus on the task at hand, which was cashing in simultaneous sit-n-gos. This is always the goal when you enter a tournament of any kind: get to the money.Well, I got to the money at both tables, and was soon offered chances to make my presence felt as the player to reckon with – you wanna win, you gotta go through me!

My favorite part of a sit-n-go is when the bubble boy is eliminated, because then I become the kind of aggressive monster that I wished I could someday grow up to become. For now, it’s just when I make the money, which kind of forces me to realize that I have gaping holes in my game; holes that can only be filled when a profit is assured.Watch the vid, you can almost feel me brimming with confidence and clicking away with a swagger normally reserved for someone with ideas far above his station. You know what they say about people like that, don't you? Yep, they usually get owned...

Anyway, I got some kind of owned; both were beats, but who’s to say how bad? Moderately bad, I suppose, which doesn’t make me feel any better…okay it does. The lesson to be learned is...Um, I think…er, maybe… I got it: stay ratcheted down and play strong poker, and watch it all go up in flames in one freakin’ hand. Or in this case, two.

The actual lesson is probably this: calm the hell down, punk, and take your beats like a man. I can admit I was owned, knocked down and dragged out, but I can smile like I mean it and get back up on that horse... and know that someday, maybe, if I get my money in badly, I'll be someone else's bad beat story. And hey, third place isn't so bad, right...?
