Recently, the World Poker Tour renewed its deal with Fox Sports, its current home, for a three-year extension. The 9th, 10th, and 11th seasons of the Tour will all be broadcast on Sunday nights at 8 P.M. and 11 P.M. There will also be additional airings of the show during the week at various times.
Season 7 was the first season where the World Poker Tour was broadcast on Fox Sports, and it has widely been considered a success for both the Tour and the network. Fox Sports has more viewers than the WPT's previous home, GSN, and the promotion of the weekly broadcasts has also seen an increase since the switch of networks.
There are expected to be some changes to broadcasts for the upcoming 9th season, although it has yet to be announced exactly what will be changed. The show is a direct competitor for ESPN's coverage of the World Series of Poker, which recently released news that ratings for this year's iteration of the WSOP dropped 16%.
