****My old friend, Dan Cleary (author of The Green Ribbon) is doing a feature tonight at the Waiting for the Bus show at Café Ballou at 939 N. Western. The sign up for open mics occurs at 7:30 and the theme for the evening is the agony and the ecstasy (there may be a fair amount of Van Gogh and Gauguin pieces.)
****After a brief hiatus The Aloha poetry show is moving from The Café (near Foster and Lincoln) to 2020 N. Oakley Avenue at Gallery Caberet . The show will take place every week from 7 to 9 pm starting on January 18 with the irreplaceable Janet Kuypers hosting.
