The Last Guardian interview and new teaser video

Aww... freakin' adorable. ^_^

In a recent blog post, Sony released a new teaser video of The Last Guardian (tacked to the bottom of this post), as well as a brief interview with Team ICO Director and Game Designer Fumito Ueda.

During the interview, Ueda discusses his intentions to create a fantasy world that feels real.

Quoth Ueda:

None of the elements we're mixing together really exist, but they feel like they do.

And again:

I feel that all works of imagination need some connection with reality.

Unfortunately, there are no new developments or leaks regarding details on the game's story. Ueda explains his locked lips:

I can't say yet what the story will be, but I like the unexpected, and I want to surprise people with the ending and the way everything unfolds.

Despite this, it's probably safe to assume there will be some sort of event to force this boy and beast to bond together and overcome some sort of obstacle. They develop a relationship, become buddies, and everyone cries at the end.

God, Shadow of the Colossus was a great game. Totally off topic, but true.

All in all, the new footage is absolutely stunning, and The Last Guardian looks like it's going to be fantastic.

Surely this will be another title to bring to the table for the "games as art" debate. A release date is still pending, but keep an eye out.
