Recovering after a facelift

If you're consider a facelift, the recovery is usually 1-2 weeks long.  Immediately after surgery, an overnight stay in a hospital will provide you with a nurse to assist with eating and going to the bathroom.  You can also get intravenous pain medicine.  Once you're discharged, recovery at home should involve rest and relaxation for the first week.  Then, you can start increasing the intensity of your daily activity.  Dressings are usually removed at 1-2 days with suture removed at 3 days for the ones on the face and 7 days for the sutures in the hairline.  Swelling is significantly reduced at 1-2 weeks, but may persist for several months before completely resolving.  If you're interested in a facelift, you may want to check out some before and after photos.  And remember, a facelift can be an "uplifting" experience.
