Senator John McCain, who represents Arizona in the U.S. Senate has struck back at Majority Leader Reid after a long-standing feud between the two men got hotter.

Senator McCain is running for reelection and will be opposed in the primary by former Arizona Congressman J.D. Hayworth who was ousted from his Congressional seat in 2007 after being in office for 12 years along with some lesser known candidates.

On January 26, 2010, McCain and Reid went at it again.  Reid had recently criticized McCain for what he called the Senator's sharp partisan attacks on the Obama administration policies, saying that he was amazed the Senator was not more of a statesman.

McCain, who was the Republican nominee in 2008 and returned to the Senate after the election, was quoted as saying that Harry Reid had attacked him and his temperament and character during the campaign. The Senator said that Reid had previously accused him and other Republicans of being like those who had opposed the abolition of slavery.

The feud between McCain and Reid goes back a long way.  In December 2007, McCain blasted Reid for saying that the Iraq "war was lost" at a time when the Senator was backing President Bush's war policy and the surge of troops in that country. During the 2008 election, McCain ran an ad showing Reid making the "war is lost" statement in South Carolina.

Apparently, the feud between the two powerful politicians will continue unabated during the 2010 election season.

Whom was the President during the Wall Street financial crisis?
It's time to stop pointing fingers.
I would have voted for McCain, if he hadn't picked a pretty lady from Alaska as a running mate!
