All members proudly hailing from the Pittsburgh area is the Doors Experience! Meet band members Joseph St. Esprit as Jim Morrison performing lead vocals, John Radko as Ray Manzerak on the organ and piano, Frank Knezevich as Robby Krieger with lead guitar, and Steve Haberman as John Densmore on percussion.
Steve Haberman, full-time magician, started the band in 2007 upon meeting John Radko. Putting together a band had always been a dream of Steve's. Being a pianist of classical, pop, and blues training, John had little idea of who the Doors were; nevertheless, Steve was certain he couldn't have found a better pianist for his band. The only Doors song John had ever heard of was "Light My Fire," but once he was properly introduced to the music of The Doors, and he was sold from day one.
John immediately took on the huge task of transcribing all the Doors music, learning all of Ray Manzerak's lead riffs and idiosyncratic way of playing. Together, John and Steve continued the search to fill the two remaining spots for their Doors tribute band. They tirelessly auditioned and interviewed guitar players and singer until they found Frank Knezevich and Joseph St. Esprit.
A key factor for the band's success is their love of the the Doors' music and their influence in the music world, as well as their passion in the performing arts. The band members serve a mission to put on a show for people who have always wanted to know what it would be like to see The Doors live. Their hard work is paying off, as they become more known for their talent. The band is proud to say that they use exact replicas of the vintage instruments used by the original Doors members. They work hard to incorperate elements of The Doors' live performances, as well as their studio work in our shows. Some of the places the band has performed includes the Wheeling Island Casino, Hard Rock Cafe, and The Altar Bar.
