Beer Army's Brew Bern opened on time to a solid crowd on Saturday. While the initial line was a long one, excellent organization allowed for rapid processing of those coming to sample the wide variety of beers inside.
Brewers from California to Boston were on hand to show and allow tasting of their wares. Names like "Loose Cannon" and "Panic Attack" were available, as well as more traditional sounding names.
There was a tasting seminar to educate the aficionados and curious about the art of beer tasting, as well as the types of beers available.
Part of the proceeds will benefit Hope for the Warriors, a non profit organization that helps wounded service people and their families.
Organization and security made the event a fun and safe time for everyone, as officers from the New Bern Police Department and the Beer Army Security Officers ensured that all was well.
Volunteers from the NRF helped out and individual volunteers were on hand to provide guidance and keep the area neat and clean. Moore's Bar B Que served food and the event was comfortably housed at the spacious Riverfront Convention Center in New Bern.
The evening session was much busier, but, thanks to the excellent organization in place, no problems with quickly processing admissions or making sure all were able to enjoy the tastings and the discovery of new and exciting beer flavors.
There will be another Beer Army function later in the year...so keep an eye out for information about that as time goes by.
Enjoy the video and images.
