It was a Cleveland news story that gripped the nation's attention. Now, in all probability, the final chapter in the case of disgraced doctor Yazeed Essa has been written.
This afternoon, Judge Deena Calabrese handed down her sentence: life in prison with the possibility of parole after 20 years. By that time rolls around, Essa, 41, will be in his early 60s. Essa and his attorneys have 30 days to appeal.
In such a serious, drawn-out (Rosemarie's murder was back in 2005) case, emotions were undoubtedly running high as Rosemarie Essa's family was allowed to address her killer in court on sentencing day.
Obviously, in such a high profile case, cameras were rolling in court today.
Below is a link to a 14 minute video of the final court proceedings in the Essa trial. Click to watch the final events in the trial unfold. Besides the featured video, there are several others, as well.
