"In the Real World" is the new exhibit at the Chicago Photography Collective gallery scheduled to open on April 8 and will run through to May 2, 2010. The exhibit will feature works of Chicago photographers Ron Seymour and Karen Hoyt.
From Ron:
"Photography is the primary focus of my life. Almost all of my friends and acquaintances have been made through photography. My work has taken me all over the world and has enabled me to see and experience things I never would have if it weren't for this profession, this passion."
From Karen:
"The body of personal work comes from moments in between, when some moment reveals itself, and I have the energy and time to try to put it on film. As I photograph, I react to broad themes that interest me, and only later do I, or others, notice details in one image that reinforces another; thus rthe body of work has emerged upon reflection."
The Chicago Photography Collective gallery is located at 29 E. Madison in The Loop (near corner Wabash and Madison) and is part of the Pop-Up Art Loop (TM) initiative of the Chicago Loop Alliance.
