Well, this could be one of the shortest retirement parties ever.
Foxsports.com is reporting that Allen Iverson, who played all of three games with the Memphis Grizzlies this season before being waived, is on the verge of re-signing with the Philadelphia 76ers. It was in Philadelphia where the All-Star guard had the most success. In 2001, Iverson guided the Sixers to the NBA Finals where they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in a hard-fought five-game series.
OK, now comes the question: Why???
Why would the Sixers want A.I. back?
Lou Williams is out for eight weeks with a fractured jaw. Rookie Jrue Holiday is the youngest player in the league at 19.
Why would A.I. want to come back?
He doesn't want to end his career on such a sour note. Stops in Denver, Detroit and Memphis were nothing like his years in Philadelphia.
Iverson can still score. But there's much more to it when you're dealing with him. Odds are he'll invite controversy. He always does.

You must be related to Phil, not only do they need AI to fill some seats but Mr. Snyder needs, lmao, AI to get that egg off his face as a result of that Elton Brand pickup. This is a no brainer, baggage and all, if any...
I never respected the 76's and I never was impressed by Iverson but this is a no-brainer, why wait to annouce it. Iverson will work the first year for peanuts and it might actually encourage me to buy some tickets for me and the kid, who is just young enough to think that Iverson was actually an MVP.
thanks for writing. ... fans will come out ... i truly believe that.
