One of my neighbors owns a beautiful but very rambunctious large dog. She's had this dog for quite a while - you can spot her a block away being dragged down the street by this enormous, hulking, very sweet creature. She has had, up until recently, no control whatsoever over her dog, causing neighbors to cross the street to avoid her! The dog is a very kind creature but has had no training or guidance at all. It's really been kind of a shame.
I saw her the other day though, after about a month, and it was as though her dog had a complete change of personality. Sweet, calm, walking on the leash, this could not be the same dog that used to drag her down the street! But apparently with a little guidance and training and the proper tools, my neighbor was able to gain control of her dog.
I asked her what she had done, whether she had attended a training class, and she told me that she had not done so. She had purchased a Dean & Tyler harness for the dog, some heavy duty collars and leashes, and had been able to train the dog herself! Now, I'm not recommending necessarily that anyone should try to train their dog singlehandedly - especially if the dog weighs more than you do - but in this instance, she spoke very highly of these products so I did a little research.
Dean and Tyler products appear to be incredibly well made and sturdy. According to their website, they have 150 different styles and types of collars, 50 types of leashes, and 40 different muzzles. I love choices! They seem to make products that work for dogs of all sizes and shapes, which is great because I'm going to get a fancy little collar for my maltipoo Angel (she wouldn't like to be left out of the fashion game, you know).
I contacted their customer service to figure out how to measure my dog (I should know what size she wears, but of course, I just buy what appears to be cute and not what is necessarily her proper size). They were super friendly and helpful and offered me a lot of suggestions on products which will keep my four legged daughter not only well attired but also well trained. The key, I think, is that their products are really well made and so you can train your dog as well as take them out for a leisurely stroll. I have not found that to be the case with all products, believe me. I have had collars fall apart, literally just snap, and my dog is only 12 pounds! So with a larger dog, good quality products which are durable are the key not only for training purposes but also for keeping your dog safe!
There are lots of different products to choose from, but I was really impressed with their dog equipment, dog accessories, and dog products. Check their stuff out. I was really impressed and I'm always looking for good products to pass along. As an added bonus, they offer a 10% discount from total purchase by using the code "heels2009". I love a deal!! But it expires at the end of July so shop now.
Email me and let me know what you think of their products. Are they awesome, or am I just easily impressed? Let me know!

Their dog leashes that have the duel latch are awesome! We always walk our dog and then will occasionally want to keep her closer to us, or we'll stop in a store really quickly and want to wrap the leash around something... this is perfect for that. Plus, for training, I'm sure its great. And the BONUS is that it is a gorgeous leather braided leash. I love it!!
These dog products are great! They are functional, strong and look good. I really like the collars. Big dogs used to get left out of being fashionable but not any more with Dean and Tyler Products. Their harnesses are great for the working dog too.
