After a summer of several horrendous cases of animal abuse in Baltimore the Mayor’s Anti-Animal Abuse Task Force, which was formed following one such case in May, invites the community to an open meeting to voice and discuss their concerns.
Baltimore Polytechnic Institute at 1400 W. Coldspring Lane will host the public forum in their auditorium beginning at 6:00 PM this evening, Wednesday, September, 16, 2009.
The meeting is expected to be about 2.5 hours according to task force chairperson, Caroline Griffin. Ms. Griffin, an attorney and Baltimore Humane Society Board member explains that the purpose of this meeting is for residents to express their concerns and views. Anyone wishing to speak at the meeting is asked to sign when they arrive.
The Anti-Animal Abuse Task Force, which met for the first time in July, plans to listen to the community during this meeting, but will not be offering comments or answering questions as they have just begun their important work. This is an opportunity for the community to guide that work and all concerned citizens are encouraged to take part.
