In follow-up to the Will your pet be safe in a disaster? article, http://www.examiner.com/x-21796-Baltimore-Pets-Examiner~y2009m9d2-Will-Your-Pet-Be-Safe-In-a-Disaster?cid=exrss-Baltimore-Pets-Examiner Baltimore is calling pet owners to participate in The Maryland State Animal Response Team or MDSART disaster drill on Monday, September 28, 2009. MDSART is looking for at least 25 volunteers to help role-play disaster stricken residents with pets. You need not have previous drill experience. It is asked that all pets be in crates before, during and after the drill. Volunteers are asked to arrive promptly at 9:30 AM.

If you have a well behaved pet and some time on Monday, the 28th, you and your pet are needed to help with this important drill. This is also a great opportunity to learn about disaster preparedness and to be a hero in your community.

For additional information or to register for the drill, contact Baltimore County Volunteers at 410-887-2715 or e-mail volunteers@baltimorecountymd.gov.
