Peter Facinelli's 'Nurse Jackie' picked up for third season

Good news Nurse Jackie fans! Less than a week into the series' second season, the Showtime original hit (which features Peter Facinelli as the quirky "Dr. Fitch Cooper") has been picked up for a third.

According to Zap2it, Nurse Jackie and fellow Showtime series United States Of Tara "received a 12-episode order for next season, and both will go back into production later this year for a likely 2011 premiere."

Facinelli recently spoke to the San Angelo Standard-Times about the series, saying "I'm a fan of the show. I love watching these characters and how they all interact ... and to see how they react off of each other, and how they get along and don't get along."
