Beat the winter cold with heated pet beds

Is your pet feeling the chill of Seattle storms? Heated beds provide a safe and economical way to keep your pet warm during the freezing winter snap.

Electric beds that you can plug in provide round-the-clock warmth for your animal. Heated pet beds are a great relief to older pets with arthritis – and are enjoyed by pets of all ages during the cold months of the year. Some of these beds are lined with cozy fleece, and most electric beds self-adjust to reduce their temperatures when there isn’t a critter occupying them. It’s best to keep these electric beds inside the house, and away from outside elements like water and frost.

If you don’t feel comfortable leaving a heated bed plugged in, then you could try a pet mat that is self-heating. Self-heating mats contain shiny silver sheets of material similar to what astronauts use to lock in warmth on journeys into outer space. When your pet lies on the mat, the mat activates itself to reflect heat back to your pet. Just be sure not to bend or fold self-heating mats so that the core fibers remain intact.
