This is not a video for everyone to watch.
If you have ever volunteered at an animal shelter, or maybe even if you have not, you will know how tortured these people were to have to make this.
Remember, the video makers are volunteers from the Forrest City Area Humane Society who have have been battling with their city over the conditions at the shelter for some time.
They needed documentation.
Channel 13's My Fox Memphis, said the video was "designed to pull at your heart strings," and said parts of it are too graphic to show on TV.
The mayor said it was designed to "stir up emotion in people."
After watching, I think pulling at my heart strings is the furthest thing it did. But, it certainly stirred up some emotion in me.
It sickened me and nothing could justify what is happening at this city-funded animal shelter.
Please remember, I warned you. Not everyone will want to watch this.
But, it needs to be seen.
And the suffering needs to end.

Why is it that city leaders allow their animal shelters to be such hell holes? There are so many animal shelters like this across this country and they feel like they can do whatever they want no matter what.
Please people your tax dollars are being use to run places like this. Check out your local animal shelter and bring a video camera. When enough people stand up and say this must stop - then it will.
Even if you don't care about animals you should care that your tax money is being wasted on people that don't do their job.
I read the local paper everyday and the Humane Society advertises for donations in the classified. Where do these donations go, obviously not to the shelter if it is in such dissarray.And if they have twentyfive people who could witness the filming of the videos, maybe they should have picked up a broom and made better use of their time. Yes there are two employees of the city employed at the shelter. But if they are at the shelterwho is out on the streets picking up strays?
Sorry that I did not respond to the comment earlier on donations made to the Humane Society. The Humane Society of the United States has nothing to do with other organizations that use the name Humane Society. They give absolutely nothing to these others. These volunteers did clean and care for these animals continually. However, over the years what they witnessed forced them to make this video because they can not, as volunteers, be there on a regular basis. Their tax dollars pay for this shelter and it should be run correctly and humanely. Thank you for commenting.
What the HELL is going on in that shelter!!! If that many puppies are dieing, then the vet should have been brought in, AND isolate the sick ones! My opinion is that the STUPID ABUSIVE SORRY ATTEMPTS AT HUMANS WERE POISONING the poor animals that just wanted a good life. And that one dog that got put down because it was to 'aggressive', DAMN WAS SHE EVER!!! TOO BAD I WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM TRUSTING HER EVEN WITH MY 3 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER!!! IF she was agressive towards anyone, then it was probably beacuse they were abusing her and making her defend herself. They NEED TO GET NEW PEOPLE IN THER NOW!!! And to everyone who helped cause these conditions in the shelter, i sure hope that you get the same treatment for the rest of your miserable life, and that you rot in hell for eternity, probably the devil is ashamed of you all!! And GOD bless and take care of the Angels watching over the shelter, and caring for these amazing animals.
