Vicktory Dog wine collection helps stop dog fighting

Pet Rescue Examiner
The 22 Pit Bull Terriers used by convited NFL player Michael Vicks in a cruel dog fighting business have come to be known as the Vicktory Dogs after their dramatic rescue from his horrific abuse. Their innocent and scarred faces let the public see firsthand, the shocking realities of dog fighting. Now the 22 pups are going further to stop the industry and fight for stronger laws against dog fighting with the Vicktory Wine Collection.
Carivintas Winery, a wine company that already has a Dog Lovers Wine Club, developed a collection of red wines in honor of the Vicktory dogs. A portrait of each dog is represented on the 22 different labels of wine and a description about their history is printed on the back. The winery will donate 10% from the sale of the collection to stop dog fighting.
The project was inspired by the portraits painted of the dogs by one of the founders, Cyrus Mejia, of
Best Friends Animal Society. Last January the dogs were moved to the Best Friends sanctuary and Mejia began painting the faces of each dog, trying to capture their personalities and hopeful nature. The Vicktory dogs have spent the year with trainers in an effort to rehabilitate them and see if any are suitable for adoption.
The Vicktory Wine Collection includes the 22 boutique red wines, plus two bottles commemorating the 25
th anniversary of Best Friends. The wines may be purchased as a set, half set of by the bottle. Wine may be ordered through the
Dog Lover’s Wine Club.
An estimated 40,000 people are involved in the illegal dog fighting business in the United States. Help fight for tougher laws to stop the industry and prosecute offenders with the gift of wine for the holidays

Some people will find fault with anything! You notive this was started by a WINERY. They make WINE. If you have your own bug juice factory by all means start your own philanthropic organization to prevent dog fighting and serve tasty drinks to children; but do you really need to nit-pick those who already have?
