Chances are, you look like your dog. But it's probably not due to convergence--the theory that, over time, you start to look like your dog (or spouse).
More likely, we tend to choose dogs that look like us or suit our lifestyles.
There is a little bit of truth in the theory that owners look like their dogs, but if you are of a robust build you will probably have a more robust dog so that you can gets lots of exercise.
If you are more slight you may want a poodle as you think that they need less exercise.

The volunteers were correct 50 to 60 percent of the time. Had they guessed accurately by pure chance, their success rate would have been 33 percent, suggesting it was more than pure coincidence.
The study also uncovered two more findings:
- there is no strong link between any particular personality trait and choice of dog breed, and
- dog owners were perceived as nicer or "more agreeable" than the general population
