A black and white cocker spaniel in China, named Treasure, is addicted to smoking. "She needs at least two cigarettes a day," said the dog's owner, identified by the Daily Mail as Mrs. Li. "I have to light one in the ashtray and let her stay beside to suck the smoke."
Treasure began smoking when she was just five months old. "When people smoked she would chase them for the smell and would sometimes even stand up to suck in the smoke," Mrs. Li is quoted as saying.
Treasure also has another foul habit. "She eats all the butts, swallows down the tobacco and then spits out the rest," said Mrs. Li.
Mrs. Li says she needs help getting her dog to quit smoking. A recent veterinary exam revealed that Treasure "has a shadow on her lungs, and her heart and liver are bigger than standard," reports the Daily Mail.

What a stupid ignorant thing to do! This is the dumbest article I have EVER read, & shame on Pet Examiner for even bothering to print it!! It makes no sense...certainly is NOT funny, & I think this column is above that! It IS sad as this poor dog is going to die a painful death from LUNG CANCER!! I hope they all go together in that stupid family!!
This is disgusting. The woman should be charged. I agree with Char, this isn't funny at all.
Its one thing to inflict this horrible habit on yourself and another thing to impose it on your furry family member?! OMG! This poor dog is going to suffer if he isn't already. I hope that she never is allowed to have another pet. Seriously.
It's animal abuse - pure and simple. It's obvious that in China, if they aren't killing dogs for food they're killing them for fun. If the owner wants to die from smoking, she shouldn't take anyone or anything with her!!!
You guys call this abuse? Your mother is abuse.
